i don't really care if people here buy for investment purposes or not. What I do very much dislike is the fact that much attention is given to this aspect on the forum. Maybe the admin could make a sub-topic where those interested could discuss this topic with one another.

Not a bad idea.... that way all of the “in my day we only wore watches because we loved them” crowd won’t be subjected to the threads

The problem is that the investment side of things has penetrated so far into the minds of people that we have a whole new batch of collectors that are simply into it for the financial gains and not the pieces themselves. Unfortunately you can’t have one without the other- the reason my 20 year old Sub is worth anything at all is because of this hysteria.
