AP wants to streamline and produce cleaner dials. This started with the 15500 when they took the Automatic text out.

Then in the 43 ROOs they killed the Audemars Piguet and it’s just AP on the dial. Same for the new 42 ROOs. This is just a continuation of that in that they’re stripping down dials

Are the 50th Anniversary Royal Oak models being produced for one year only? hence the "50" engraved rotor which is pretty cool.
Does that mean that the regular 26331's are discontinued alongside the 15202?
Or are they continuing alongside the new 2022 Anniversary models?
I don't think AP has stated how long this Anniversary run will go on for.

Writing on the dial reminds me of a Chopard, not a good or sophisticated look on such a complex piece.

Models produced in 2022. will have this rotor, and production continues in 2023 with normal rotor.

Agree guys... 15407 openworked construction is still untouched... new tourbillon is great too, can't wait live pics... I know I will still hate the crystal writing and there is no info on website about the tickness..

Well if you're not a good client you won't get the 50 years model. Confirmed today with the boutique in Geneva. Current lists waiters (such as myself) are in 99% of the case rolled to the new model (no change of colour possible).

So basically nothing changes for VIPs (they will get whatever they want), regular folks like myself will have to wait 1 year more since we won't get any allocation this year, regardless of how much wait time you had before, and newcomers are just not welcome. They said they simply don't take any demand for RO line at all.

According to a statement from the CEO the majority will be going to new customers

How do you mean run differently? It seems the uk market seems tone ran differently for many brands including Richard Mille with compliance but in the Far East and Asia its like the wild Wild West with no rules being played too

Yeah well doesn’t seem that way according to my SA. And otherwise it’s very possible that most of the CODE will go to people eager to get a ticket for a RO wait list, so in a sense he’s right lol.

How AP run their business in their Geneva boutique won't necessarily be the same as how AP UK run their business in this territiry.....so the experience/conversation the other member had there/reported won't automaitcally translate to the UK market.

I don't understand why they don't have a process throughout the company wouldn't it make life easier if everyone was reading the same hymn sheet.
But what do I know.....nothing

It's like a perfectly symmetric tropical dial.

I absolutely love the steel chrono with the original shade of blue dial. I know the khaki green dial will have the biggest hype, but the blue is the gem of the lineup imho.

That new Jumbo in steel with blue dial is perfection. Fantastic update, finally with date quick-set and better power-reserve.

Interesting.

Why do you think the khaki will draw the hype here for the new ROC? I’d be delighted with either the Blue or Khaki this year.

Maybe, maybe not. But out of all the 50th anniversary models, I put this one at the top of my list in the flurry of emails I sent to the boutique since yesterday. We'll see. The smoked dial certainly is unique, and there are not many YG options in the current AP catalogue.

It should have been easy to predict the steel ROC from the 26293OR and the steel RO lineup, but somehow they look much better than I had expected. Blue and green are both superb, black and white are nice as well.

For all the hoopla about the black panther and FHBs Hollywood ambitions, this seems like a well thought out and respectful update of the RO/ROC lineup.

Multiple reasons:
1. Green is in vogue right now alongside Tiffany blue
2. The hype created by the Green Nautilus 5711 which trades 3x higher than the blue Nautilus.
3. AP Royal Oaks with green dials are much rarer than those with blue dials. AP used green very sparingly on dials and its mostly on Offshores.
