This is an article on how these guys paid tribute to MJ after they found out about his death. This is really a great article on Jackson's impact on these inmates:

I wonder what he was going to show for his new tour????????
I was just watching his E! True Hollywood Story, which has already been updated...

Said there's footage of his tour rehearsals which may be released as a "tribute," so we may find out after all.

Bunch of intellectual "wah wah" types discussiing MJ's death.

One point that kept coming up was the Micheal Jackson we all knew and loved, the performer, the artist, the singer, the dancer actually died following the release of the Dangerous album and the tour.

That would have been around 1992-93 I think. When you think his last biggest hit was Black and White in around 1991 that seems like a long, long time ago.

From there it was allegations, skin bleaching, skin diseases, court cases, repossessions, incredible debt, baby dangling, pain killers, face masks, TV documentarys etc. His music was no longer relevant when compared to his personal life.

Basically, Micheal Jackson as we knew him was gone and he was replaced by the Pop Culture Icon that died two nights ago.

So two Micheal Jacksons; the legend with his music and the pop culture "celebrity" with his troubles.

Even his detractors must mourn one of them surely...I know which one I miss.

J
I agree, well said.

I see a lot of debate going on here about M.J, first of all wether we like his music or not (which is a personal taste)we have to agree that he is the greatest entertainer ever (based on sales figures)...i doubt that any of us has not tried the Moonwalk at least once in his childhood!
also we all agree that his personal life was not that impressive BUT for us he is only a musician and we are not here to judge his personal behavior as most of us are not that perfect :) lets assume that we are not aware of his acts in the recent years!

i have seen him 2 years ago (he came to the company i work in Dubai) and he looked so weak but still, seeing M.J in person is something that i will never forget (as well as his songs that shaped our personalities)

Growing up in the 80's I idolized Michael Jackson. His intricate dance moves, unique style, and I was captivated by his music and the videos that would play on heavy rotation back when MTV wasn't a neverending reality show.

By the time I was old enough to comprehend the epic mini-movie that was 'Thriller', I was hooked on Michael.

Think whatever you will about Michael Jackson's past controversies, his questionable personal choices and decisions, and his sometimes eccentric behavior- but you CANNOT deny the man was one of the most influential, talented, and brilliant performers of all time. He made an impact on almost every genre of music and inspired so many of today, and tomorrow's future artists throughout his career.

And despite years and years of rumors, speculations, accusations, media scrutiny and ridicule- I truly believe Michael Jackson was a good guy with a big heart who wanted to make a difference in the world- and no amount of tabloid filth or malicious gossip has ever, or could ever, change my opinion on that.

I am deeply saddened by the world's loss of such a legend.

I hope he finally finds peace, the childhood he was deprived of, and the Neverland he always wanted.

I will miss you greatly Michael. Your legend will forever live on.....

This song is one of my favorites, the dancing is almost too fast for the eyes:
