There were lots of red flags I identified if it helps someone in the future:

1. Deadlocks and shabby appearance
2. Drugs
3. Email address had the Raiders in it; the other one was “proton.”
4. Small time jewelry store and he picked it
5. It was for someone else not him

I’m just glad you’re ok OP. It could have ended badly. I hope you get your watch back and also give yourself grace.

Robbery Robbed of Rolex Day Date 40 228206 in Southern California

Not sure if Raiders fans are as dangerous as Raiders players. I lived by their practice facility and they have on aggregate created a public safety situation with 100 mph crashes and frequent DUIs near my home.

OP, hope you get your watch back. This thread is a public service announcement and should be pinned.

Yup.
Only safe place for a Rolex on here seems to be in a “safe”.

It’s all nuts man. The crime, the fear of the crime, yada yada yada. But hey at least it paves the way for us to have “which watch is under the radar” threads.

So sorry to hear this and what an insane story; in a jewelry store of all places too. At least you weren't seriously hurt!

Good stuff. I felt this way about a thread that went on forever about some guy on here sending super picky pics of a watch strap being stretched or bent. It drove me insane that everyone kept feeding this stray cat. It was like a train wreck I couldn’t look away from

Last activity on the Forum was March 1 for the OP. Any updates to this tragedy?

I’ve recovered 2 different Rolexes and posted the serial numbers of all 4 that were stolen in my incident.

Frankly it’s curious that the OP hasn’t done the same.

Just have to be careful. I miss the days when face to face transactions were less stressful.

You must live in or near Inspirada, in Henderson, Nv. I just sold my house there.
