There are enough pics of the different versions around than on the balance of probability, one could legitably draw that conclusion.

What’s the secret to getting these gifts with purchase?
I did not even receive a plastic pen purchase. Must have to spend more, IDK

Ultimately decided to pass on this watch. The reality is that I only want the watch for the James Cameron dial. I could care less and would never have desired the watch in the black variant.

I got to try on both the new and the old version, so here are my thoughts.

I have seen this watch look great on people. If you have big wrists and an overall huge frame, then this watch shines. I have seen this watch look like a Sub on huge guys.

On the flip side, on a scrawny small guy it'll look ridiculous. I have seen this once in person. It was a little shorter than average height asian guy with what appeared to be below 6 inch wrists. It looked like an anchor strapped to his wrist.

Now, there is a middle ground. The average sized guy with an around 7 inch can wear this watch. At this point, it becomes a statement piece.

For me, I'm about 6 feet tall, 6.5 inch wrists, and fairly muscular. The 116660 completely covered my wrist. It was wearable but at my absolute limit before lugs would overhang. The 126660's 2mm lug-to-lug difference in size was absolutely noticeable. It allowed my wrist to actually be visible and breath a bit. The larger bracelet and clasp made the overall watch look more proportioned and the design was thoughtful.

Overall though, I decided that the statement I would make with this watch wasn't for me. Could I get away with it? Sure but I'd have to answer for it. People would notice the watch and comment. There is no way it would go under the radar. Every time I wore it, whether I wanted to or not, the size of the watch and the dial would attract attention even if people don't comment on it.

The beautiful thing about Rolex is that they obviously made this watch in the height of the big watch craze and wanted to capitalize on that market but they made sure to make it into a technical marvel to justify the size. It's a great talking point. Unfortunately, I'm not a diver. I really appreciate the engineering but inevitably I think I would feel like a bit of a poser. I think anyone who avidly dives gets a pass on this watch. It is an expression of love of that hobby.

I guess at the end of the day I'm not a big watch guy. This is one watch though that I've always wanted to give a pass on. How can you like the deepsea and every time you try on most other big watches you say it is too big, even watches significantly smaller than the deepsea? That damn D-Blue dial. It's stunning, it's fantastic but ultimately paying 12.5k for a dial was something I had to shutdown.

I totally get why larger guys and/or guys who have the money to have massive collections have this in the box. For others, take some serious time and try this thing on before buying or you'll end up like many others who ultimately have to flip this watch cause it didn't work out.

Thank you for taking the time to write this, it’s exactly the kind of feedback on the DSSD I was looking for. I’m also just over 6’ tall with the same wrists, but can’t get my hands on the watch to form a personal opinion yet.

Well in my experience, “if you don’t ask you don’t get” .

IMHO one has nothing lose unless they have too big an ego.

They do indeed look like that. And more
Depending on the lighting the blue half of the dial can virtually appear all black and then change to a much more vivid blue
