Hmmm, okay, if you say so.........

I figured if using a shotgun gave Dick Cheney an advantage, it should also work for me too. Of course, I'm not hunting quail but I'm sure a shotgun will work for a big turkey just as well......

I am also quite confident that I will be able to select you as the correct target, instead of confusing you with local wildlife.......seems Dick should have used this handy pocket guide before going out hunting.....

You should also know that unlike Cheney, I don't plan to drink myslef silly until after the hunting is finished.......

By the way, if anyone thinks I am using these posts bantering back and forth with John to take a "pot shot" at Dick Cheney, well.........you got me!

One more just for fun......

Okay, this is really the last one....honest.....

No really, this is absolutely the last one........it says it all........

Okay, but what do chocolate, greasy food and Dick Cheney have in common?

They're all things that are bad for your complexion.

I guess in keeping with the thread, I'll throw in a picture of myself for good measure.......

Here I am shooting at the 2000 Olympic trials held in Toronto.

I would like to say that I was competing for a spot on the shooting line in Sydney, but the truth is I was unable to meet the minimum requirement set out by the Canadian Olympic Committee, which at that time was to "prove" that you were able to finish in the top 16 at the Olympics you were trying for (close, but no cigar as they say). Long story behind these requirements, but in 2000 I took the opportunity to do some shooting on the field for the trials while picturing myself in that competition.......all good mental preparation for the day I do it for real.

The trials were 3 days long, and I was the announcer for those 3 days.

Maybe James can photochop a Robin Hood type hat on Al's head, complete with said feather.

BTW Al, where in TO were the trials?

I rode in the men's Olympic trials road race back in 1992 (for Barcelona) on a bitch of a course in Hamilton (if you know Hamilton mountain, we had to ride up it 26 times or so). Out of a starting field of 150 I managed to finish 12th. I was pretty happy given that I knew I didn't stand a chance at making the team (the first year pros were allowed to ride in the Olympics) and I was hoping to finish in the top 50%.

Well, it's got little to do with gas prices, although it helps. For me, riding to work is more therapeudic as I get some miles in that I wouldn't otherwise, I get time to myself, I can take frustrations out (particularly on the way home after a crap day) and most importantly... it gets me out of seeing my in-laws (who look after my little one) twice a day.

BTW Earl.... if you got it, flaunt it.
