I sold my YM for the same reason, the bezel was a pain in the bum. I'd notice a new scratch every other day. I'd take the sub over a YM any day. How about a nice daytona to mix it up a bit?

I'm a new guy here and just respectfully throwing in my .02...BUT...it sounds like the solution to your problem is to just save a little extra over the course of 2010 and buy yourself that new Blue sub you would like around Christmas! Add number 5 to your beautiful collection. BUT, if you had to pick just one I personally like the TT blue sub much better. Good luck! Matt |

Personally i think the YM is far nicer than Bluesy, but that is my opinion. Its more refined, classier etc. But ultimately its up to you my friend

Between a TT Sub and a YM there is no competition - Bluesy wins hands down. Luck comes in waves, whatever watch you happen to be wearing at the time.

Careful JJ...
According to Padi, you used TWO terms in your Thread title which are just cause for banning - Bluesy AND Platty |

Hi JJ,
I'm a new member, but a long time lurker. Here's my 2 pence.... I, too, love the TT Bluesy and other than a Meterorite Daytona - it's my grail watch. I associate you with the bluesy first and foremost, although your other pieces are really nice too. I don't know the full back story, but I picked up enough to realise you seemed to have bad luck when you owned this watch. Could be, but I doubt it had anything to do with the watch - it's just fate. My similar experience was with a 14K rose gold ring. I was convinced that it was 'taboo', bad luck, a jinx... whatever. Everytime something 'bad' happened, I'd chock it up to that 'evil ring'. I put it away for 2 years and never touched it...and you know what? Life continued pretty much the same. Good things happened and not-so-good things happened. So, one day, I dug it out and polished it up - it's really cool looking, sort of a 'stylised' eagle design and I started wearing it and nothing major happened...at times life went great, difficulties sometimes occurred and so on and so forth. In short, for a time, I blamed that ring for bad luck when in fact, there was plenty of great times too. I'm a little stuperstitious sometimes, but a piece of metal on my finger doesn't alter time, luck or anything else - unless it was a personal item from Hitler or Manson or someother diabolical person or horrific situation. If ya' miss ol' Bluesy...get another one and be happy. It's a gorgeous timepiece. Mark Last edited by mmmmp; 16 January 2010 at 05:29 PM.. Reason: spelling |

In my opinion the YM is far nicer and more elegant than the blue sub. For some reason blue subs looks so 80's to me. The YM is an incredibly beautiful watch with its bezel in high relief. I just think it outclasses the blue sub. While blue is my favorite color, it definitely doesn't appeal to me on a Rolex with the exception of the GMT Pepsi. The blue face of a sub is over the top for my tastes. I've seen pics of you wearing your YM and it looks great on you. Far better than the blue sub as far as I'm concerned.
Bottom line: follow your heart and wear what you like! ~Sam |

JJ I voted for bluesy....
because I used to love to hear you wax poetic about it. I always thought you'd never part with it. As for me I do not believe a material object can bring any kind of luck. Sell the YM and get the older version blue sub!
Just my .02 cents. Good luck whatever your decide. Jim |

I voted for Platty!
About that bad karma stuff...well, I actually don`t believe in it, but, why risk? Platty is real beauty and you already have TT stunner, your great GMT II! But, because you`re world most famous FLIPPER, I can guess what you`ll do, my friend! Anyway, you can`t go wrong with such beauties!
