Easier to say which I do like, the Submariner and the Explorer. The only two which have stayed true to their heritage, just simple style and class, no bling, no bright colours and just stainless steel. The rest of the range doesn't move me at all, just too excessive.

I would say never for any variation of the YMII or the Daytona.
I won't say never to a fluted bezel but when given the option I prefer smooth.

YMII. Absolutely horrible. But who knows, I might get a diamond teeth grill. YM II will go perfect with that.

With the number of quality TRF trusted sellers on here, I wouldn't buy any BNIB Rolex without a 20% discount and full factory warranty hehe...

Can anyone elaborate on what type of person buys a yachtmaster II. It's the ugliest Rolex I've ever set my eyes on

Maybe someone who races yachts and is so comfortably off that he/she doesn’t care if it gets damaged in the pursuit. If you can afford to race your own offshore yacht: chances are that YM cost is much less than your annual mooring fee!

People who like them and admire the look of the watch. Perhaps people who admire the complexity of the countdown timer. People who like the size and weight of the watch. I doubt many owners own a racing yacht harboured in the Grand Harbour of Monaco but there again how many people who own a DeepSea or SeaDweller have ever been in a sat chamber and required the use of a gas escape valve on their watch.
Does that answer your question? I suspect not the answer you wanted. And no I don't own one.

One of the attractions of TRF (I found since being a membe)r is that we genuinely enjoy other peoples incomings, achieving their grail or proudly showing off their new acquisition (no matter how modest they may be....how can a person owning a RM really get excited about someone posting their new Tudor...but they do!!) without jealousy or malice. If we think someones watch sucks we tend not to say that but remain silent. I think when you have a thread with 1500 views and 10 congratulations that says everything. We also dont attack individuals but are perfectly entitled to air what we like or don't like from a subjective perspective....crumpets I own some of the ugliest watches to many collectors but that doesnt mean I am a person of poor taste, insane or anything like that. I think we should air our views but not make it personal...that probably applies to everything in life....now that I am off for the soap box....Cellini!!

One of the first Rolexes I was able to really admire was one of my coworkers YMII which is a very eye catching watch. I am comfortable with a 40-42mm case but I am really considering a YG YMII or RG Skydweller. I absolutely love the Skydweller! I wear a white dial YG YM and literally get so many compliments from people every time I wear it. I also wear SS which is much more understated and rarely do they ever draw any attention. I love the dressy sports watches and would wear any Rolex over 40mm. My very first Rolex was a 36mm SS Datejust which I ended up letting my girlfriend wear since it looks fantastic on a woman. I would say my 16610 and my Tudor Black Bay with the leather strap get the most wrist time though. Just wore my Sub to three days at Coachella and wrapped it with my bandana when it wasn't on my face to protect from all the dust.

Any model with gold bracelet. Yatchmaster 2, actually the only YM I would buy is the rose gold and black.
