Why on Earth would Rolex create a brown bezel GMT?

I’ve seen the exhibition pieces of the new Pepsi and the root beer a couple of weeks ago... I would rather have the root beer if I had the choice (not that I do).

In hand the root beer looks so much nicer in contrast to the washed out colours in the Pepsi.

I seen the GMT's this weekend and both looked great infact the SS pepsi red/blue looked more bling than the TT brown /black

I think the brown on the Platona looks incredible. Haven't seen the CHNR in person yet but I expect that I'll like it.

While I was one of the original Root Beer fans — I have wanted to see it resurrected for quite some time.

While this is a completely different variant — I think it does look great — and I am still considering adding it.

Had the entire bezel have been brown — I would have it already— but I think it definitely works - and I think the contrast does as well.

Nice shot. I understand different strokes and all, but I can't see how anyone can look at this watch and find it objectively ugly. Might be my favorite current model GMT. May never own it, but will always acknowledge its beauty.

The trend in Porsche was that color, a few years ago... No idea why

I agree with you. I find it absolutely hideous, especially on the platinum Daytona. Some people will buy anything, I guess and, apparently, be allowed to insult you if you disagree with the collective.

It's the way he went about it. No one is gonna flip out on someone for saying "I personally don't like it" or "it's not for me". Ironic that this thread is complaining about the "ugly brown" color because I'm sensing a metaphor.

Sorry, but that pie chart in the link does not mean brown is peoples second least favorite color. The question they were asking was what’s your favorite color, not what is your least favorite color. Also, the “data” had nothing to do with whether people like the way the CHNR Rolex watch looks. Obviously, a lot of people here like or even love it, so guess what, I think Rolex got it right for a substantial group of Rolex enthusiasts, and it looks like you got it wrong. And besides that, variety is the spice of life when it comes to consumer goods. I am glad there are lots of Rolex options. I don’t have to be in love with all of them nor do you. I also don’t feel the need to get bent out of shape and criticize what I don’t like. I happen to like it a lot and bought it last week. I also happen to really like the old root beer GMT especially with the nipple dial, and I happily own it too.

There is a post I read on here today with a brown dial DJ that someone is considering. I think it looks fantastic . Lastly, the Daytona was initially an unpopular watch. PN changed that.

So I do agree brown is an interesting choice of a color on the bezel. I think it works amazingly well on the full rose gold variant. The TT on the other hand is 50/50 for me. I guess its a hate it or love it kind of piece. But I don't mind it at all. I wouldn't go a head and say the word ugly but definitely interesting :). Everyone's got different tastes and I respect them.

Yeah this works a lot better though than the GMT rootbeer TT. The color palate on the DJ41 here are much better and work really well.

Earth tones are much more sensual then other colors imho. I love the watch. It's not a Rootbeer and it doesn't match the past. It's not the Tiger Eye, it's something new a CHNR. Get over it if you still are having problems and let those who love the watch enjoy them.
