15400 looks better than the 15500 IMO.

I definitely prefer the sizes of the 15400, thinner and better looking dial balance. I would say my list would be: 15300 > 15202 > 15400 > 15500 |

Oh great, a thicker 15400... and a 38mm chrono they will likely pimp as a ladies watch. How long before Serena has one? It is clear AP believes bigger is better and not sure why they keep the jumbo around at all at this point.

Probably in the minority, but I like the 15500 blue dial....
........more than the 15400 blue dial. I like the thicker markers and the shade of blue relative to the 15400 and 15450.
The slate grey dial looks amazing too. |

I'm honestly not sure which one I prefer. I like the removal of the 3pm marker on the 15500. Also I like the large "AP" on the 15500.
I'm not sure if this hue of blue is representative of what they look like in real life, and if it is...I still don't know which one I like better. My preference will always be for a lighter, more noticeable blue. If the 15500 is significantly more expensive, then the 15400 is my preference (assuming I could get either at retail). |

Sihh 2019
154 seems more classic and 155 seems more modern and sport I guess, especially with shorter and thicker hour markers, and black dial perimeter.

15500 is AP's response to Rolex's maxi case (some 10 years later). It looks like a pregnant 15400 carrying twins. Basically, they've now got 1 watch that everyone wants (15202), and the rest is just the garnish to sell it;)

The new one looks way better in that comparison.

I have the 15400, honestly I don’t have much of a preference between the newer and the older. Thickness change seems like a small ding, but longer power reserve is nice. Aesthetically, both a gorgeous, I would say equal.
Glad to see a change, even though it’s minor. |

I’m told there is more to come. Not sure what though.

The new 15500 dial although nice, will i beleive look larger on the wrist trying to portray a 42-43mm look. Some people find the 41mm borderline due to many having small wrists but i'll hold my view until i see one. Couldn't Francois make his new calibre the same size as the existing 3120? 9.8mm to 10.4 seems like a considerable larger case. Why is the 15400 still showing on the website? are they going to produce the 15400 this year and discontinue it next year?
Also, has everyone forgot the RD #2? I'm shocked to see him not come out with the one of the thinnest perpetual calendars and case. The only thing i really like is the new salmon dial 39mm jumbo. That will sell out extremely quick and it's only a 75 piece |

Yep, I don't think the 15500 is a clear winner over the 15400, or vice-versa, even if price remains the same. I favor certain aspects of each, but both are great watches.
But I wonder if the 15500 being a bit thicker helps differentiate the "Extra Thin" Jumbos? As far as there being no silver/white 15500, I wonder if that's a product of historic demand numbers on the 15400. |

I dont think they will come with a white dial 15500. The white dial has always been the slowest seller even though when i saw one i liked the silvery look to it and more interesting than their black and new grey introduction. They fazed out the rose gold 15400 rose gold on a strap so i dont see them introducing a white dial.

I really wonder why they would make the rose gold 15500 a limited edition.. perhaps a new dial variant will replace the black in the permanent collection, like how they phased out the black RG ROC?

My guess; 15500 has same hour markers as this ROC on right. See the difference of hour markers. Also, the AP logo is bigger on 15500 compared to 15400, so again it should be similar to one as on this ROC. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Is the new 4302 calibre used in other APs? Is it good?
I previously sold my 15400 due to the large case which doesn't look good on my 6.5 inch wrist. I probably won't buy the new 15500 due to the similar diameter but thicker case. |

Sign me up for the 15500 blue dial. The 15400 is a great watch, but the position of the date aperture has always been the giveaway of a movement too small for the case. I like the proportions on the 15500 much better all around, even if it gains a bit of thickness.

Judging by the date window, the 15500 must have a larger calibre, right?
