Rolex 11623 Datejust?

My local jeweler has a LNIB Rolex 11623 Datejust, D serial number, blue dial with roman numerals. The paper works says stainless steel and white gold. What portion of the watch is white gold? He has it marked for 3200. Is this the going rate for this watch? I don't know much about the Datejust models.

IMHO $3200 is fair if the condition is excellent w/ box and paps. Several DJs of that vintage have sold in the $3000 to $3800 range recently around here and on other forums. Beautiful watch, I might add. The blue dial with Romans is a favorite of mine. With DJ sales being typically slow relative to the pro line, I would try to haggle a bit for the fun of it.

BTW, the romans numerals, crown on the dial and the winding crown are also WG.

The 11623 is the earlier version of the current 116233.(csj, ssj, wsj)

I believe you are referring to a ref. 116234. (formerly ref. 16234)

Also, I think other parts like hands and hour markers are also white gold. And, maybe the stem is also white gold. I know it is in a yellow-gold model.

Regards,

Bob

Actually the 16233 is the earlier version of the TT datejust with the newer version being 116233 for TT. If the model starts with the 11 then it is the newer model. If he was looking at a all SS model datejust with a WG bezel then it would be 16234 for the older version and 116234 for the new version.

Agreed, no such thing.

And if the last number is 3, then that refers to a Steel and YELLOW GOLD watch - not Steel with a WG bezel.

Steel and WG bezel would have its last no. 4.

This whole scenario looks pretty cockeyed to me.

those 'notches' are the stickers on the watch...

remove them and you are left with the same lugs...

Oh Sheit....my fo-par!!
After closer examination, it looks like you're right.
My eyes must be outta sinc......!
So apparently, all 116233's would have polished lugs.
(glad to clear that up...)
.
Thanks gallo...(wine?!?!)
