I own one of these, the only details I know are that my grandfather bought it off a passing soldier in the 50's or 60's. I do know that he changed the strap and I do have the old perished strap, its a much chunkier affair than the one thats on now.

Anyone know anything about these?

Approximate value?

Any info appreciated.

Hanhart Chronographe issued for Kriegsmarine - German navy during WWII - I can tell because of telemetric scale used on artilery calculations and by the letter KM on the dial.

Very similar Hanhart watches were also issued for Luftwaffe pilots, mainly fighter pilots, they are very easy to recognize on many WWII photos of pilots

There were both single and double pusher versions

Those are very very special watches, they sell for quite a prices. I personally know one collector who have those even in NOS state, but he said he will never sold them because they are very rare!

I have spent a few hours on internet learning about them. But none of the ones I see have the red inner dial like mine. Any ideas what the red dial signifies?

Hi there,

its a nice and rare watch you have there! I personally own some of these Hanhart watches, they were issued as mono-pushers, dual-pushers, with or without turning bezels. The earlier models were the mono-pushers, later issues the dual pushers. After the war they produced them for a while under protection of the french in germany and even issued some to the french military.

The one you show is one of the earlier issues, probably around 1942-43, made for the marine. These models are the rarest among them! A piece like that is still missing in my collection...

Prices for Hanharts of the war-production start around 1300,-€ for a complete and functional watch, depending on the condition and on originality.

If you should ever wish to trade or sell this Hanhart, please let me know.
