No Rolex marking on SS Bezel..??
Something has been on my mind for a week and now, I have to ask the "GURUS" of our hobby.....I was in my local AD, replacing a cracked crystal on my SS Datejust (M-116200) and had a chance to look while jeweler taking the watch a part....I picked the SS smooth dome bezel to inspect for damage from caracked crystal, I noticed there was NO ROLEX CROWN PUNCH or ANY MARKING of any type...!!!!..
I have seen the tiny crown punched on my old TT Blue sub (Now Fliped) 18K bezel and expected to see an ID/ref number at least..!! But NOPE....nada.! My question: Is this a normal practice by Rolex not to have "ANY" marking on the SS Bezels and "TINY CROWN PUNCH" reserved only for white/yellow gold bezels..?? ... |

Not sure what markings you are talking about. My sub or gmt II do not have markings on the bezel

The tiny Crown punch marking is on the "UNDER SIDE" of the bezel where it does not meet the eyes,..... I have also seen a "18K" puched under another Day&Date bezel before..

The metal bezel inserts on subs and GMT (non C) don't have a stamp underneath like the thicker cast DJ/DD bezels. Think about it, that thin metal when stamped would show the stamp on the other side.

Ah I see. Maybe they don't do it on that because there generally isn't any room there to stamp something.
