Opinions on this auction?
Another guy local to me. Less than a day left. I gotta believe he's got a shill bidder in on it. Looking for confirmation.
Thx. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEWAX:IT (He's got a website www.kronopassion.com I believe.) |

The watch is only at $1000. It is worth over double that amount I would think.

worries me that there is no clear picture of the date / cyclops - are they hiding the magnification (or lack of). My first post to the "WatchOut" section....I hope I don't call fake on a real one, I have always assumed that 90%+ on Ebay are fakes but this site confirms my fears.

Right off the bat, I think it looks ok. The magnification and Rolex logo look similar to mine. Also, the seller seems to have a decent history of making high end watch sales. I couldn't say though whether this was a Frankenwatch.

Great, now I feel bad.... I'll just wait until there is one that has Rolex spelled wrong before calling it bad! :-)

Nothing looks fake on this watch. Bid away, but it is ebay.

IMHO it would be a waste of time for a seller to...
to put aftermarket parts or refurbish the dial on these models as original parts (dials etc) are VERY inexpensive. You can pick up original datejust dials on ebay for 50 bucks or so.

Last question - what do you think of the clasp?

Dennis, nothing looks fake on the watch. But all opinions are based on a couple pics. Since you appear to be new at buying and intent on a deal, maybe you should buy one locally that you can examine and return if there are any issues.
I'd stay clear of ebay based on your uncertainty and the questions you are asking - it could save you some heartache in the future. Bargain hunting on ebay can be a recipe for failure!!!!!!!!!!!!
