Just got out of the hot tub and......>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
went to put on the GV. Noticed a dark patch on the inside of the clasp's underside. Went to grab a q-tip to brush it off and lo and behold it was the last sticker that remained stealth for almost a year unbeknown to me. needless to say it was shiny underneath. just when you think you got em all any other similar experiences here with that darn ninja plastic?. Sorry no pics Im naked LOL
Happy new years to all the TRF Family Have a fun safe night Dan |

Dan - how many beers tonight, buddy? And THANK YOU for absence of pics
Yeah, the 'ghost' plastic does throw me off at times... Found a piece on my DeepSea couple days ago that I didn't even suspect existed!

Dan, my father-in-law bought a "Bluesy" Sub in December of 2005, we visited them this summer as we always do (they live in the south of France) and I asked him for a look at it close up, he handed it to me......now he wears this watch doing everything, he wanted one for years and when he bought it he said that he would be getting his wear out of it....he does a lot of building work and gardening for folk who are not there 365 days a year and the watch has been through it all with him.....I took hold of it and gave it a rub with my tee-shirt, it is in surprisingly good condition for what it's been through.....BUT....the divers extension had never been opened, he didn't know how to do it....so I showed him......hell's bells....it was filthy in there....and one sticker remained.....I peeled it off and wow....un-marked and shiny stainless steel beneath....fantastic couldn't describe it.....he was amazed (so was I!)....he had also left the sticker on the case back, I have to say it was disgusting so I asked if I could take it off too.....double wow...I expected the case back to be a bit pitted around the edge of where the case back sticker was, but no, again un-marked.....after this I gave it a good wash and scrub with an old soft toothbrush.......good as new for a beater anyway.....

My GMT had a piece of plastic hiding on the inside of the clasp. It was there for a couple of months before I found it.

Same with my 116710. Noticed it few months after I got it when I was playing with the spring bar tool for micro adjustment on the clasp.
I was pretty stoked that Rolex went through all the trouble of putting so many stickers...because they know PCL And clasp would get scratched so easily. |
