Was this pad and pen standard issue with the DD?
Hey guys,
I just received tonight, the nicest piece I've yet had the luxury to have in my inventory, a gorgeous unworn 2001 Platty DD President. This is the first platinum Rolex that I've ever had the fortune to touch or have in my posession for any length of time and the thing is an ABSOLUTE brick! What an amazing amount of weight! In any case, I was given this pad and Rolex pen with the watch. I've heard of these as promotional items (and given the RP on this watch, it could have been just that) but didn't know whether Rolex included them as part of the package with a President. Just curious... I kinda wanna hang onto em... And here's some photos of Mr. President... Please go easy on me, this is the first time I've spent any time taking photos with my D90 so I know they're probably not up to the standards of some of the fantastic photos elsewhere on this forum! Cheers, Ian. |

Wow. Excellent pix.
They even show up the stickers. The pen and pad are a nice thank you for buying the flagship.

Thanks for the compliments guys! The temptation to put this one on is KILLING me, but since it's supposed to remain "unworn" I'd have a heart attack if I scratched it, plus it would then be dis-honest to showcase it as an unworn piece to my customers. Kinda sucks it's just gonna sit there.
I now understand why every man aspires to own a DD... this is an amazing piece of art-work and engineering. |

However, I may just end up selling it as "like new" condition and enjoy it while it's here. If not, I have a gold 1680-8 Sub that is in John Brozek's hands right now. That one hopefully will have a successful overhaul and I can wear when it's done. Currently, my wrist is naked, and that isn't supposed to happen considering I do this primarily as a hobby! Eventually I'll pick up another one "just for me". |
