"Fake Rolex" Beginners Class

Up for perusal I present two seriously fake Rolex watches.

These ones are both very obvious....even considering the rather poor photos that I have taken.

I ask that those who believe that they cannot spot fakes have a go at spotting the issues with these watches.

I would ask that the advanced members provide other easy to spot fakes for people to try their hand at.

The one on the left is upside down.

Am I correct?

The cyclops magnification is not the 2.5 power it should be. The band does not have screws on the first links for adjustment and doesn't appear to be a correct jubilee band with smaller links in the 2 middle rows. Best regards, Brian

Sorry, but I have to ask...Why are we discussing this shite (for lack of a more graphic word) here? First and foremost we are not in the business of discussing fakes on TRF, please someone correct me if I'm wrong. We spot them on eBay and ID them sometimes, but we really shouldn't be here giving 101 Classes on how to ID them. No? Actually, the pictures you posted are so obvious it's actually funny.

Exactly why I posted them, Nicko.

They are so fake that those that would like to get involved in spotting fakes have a fighting chance.

What is worse, discussing fakes or falling prey to one? Alas, many people here are in the market to purchase.....they see the name "Rolex", and forget to look for the most simple, and obvious mistakes.

Rather than looking at really "good" fakes that will more than likely fool most, why should we not concentrate on the really "bad" fakes to save people their hard earned cash?

The photos I took are in the format of most eBay fake photos that I have seen....pretty unclear, terrible angles....but generally they show the obvious mistakes!

I'm not sure I understand that logic......anyway, I think we've seen enough 'fakes' for the purposes of the discussion in this thread.............

So don't post anymore fakes of any description.

I am sorry if we are going to be talking about how to spot fakes, we should at least be looking at watches that stand a chance of passing as genuine. If some one actually bough one of these watches as Genuine. They deserve to get ripped off.

Nicko I agree to many the watches shown are clearly fakes.

The link you provide to the rules is specific to the 'Rolex General Discussion' forum and most other forums for that matter.

The watch out forum was designed to discuss issues relating to genuine/fake distinction. In that regard instructive discussion on fakes is useful.

However, that does not mean fakes can be posted in this WatchOut! forum for the sake of the gratification of fake merchandise. If I see that being done then the material will be removed and those responsible will be sorry for their actions.

I stand corrected.

I was under the impression this also included this area as well. No harm no foul.

Those are very old counterfeits. Probably from the 1970's.

The new ones I have seen are better than that however I can see the difference what we need are better fakes if we are allowed to have them to learn from.

Love the dog!
