HELP!!! 1st Post and need advice

Wife bought me a new TT Ceramic sub for christmas. Love this watch.

My idiot co-worker launched a small black paper clip (the ones that have the little silver finger presses on them) at me and i think it hit the crystal on the watch. I almost threw him out the window.

Nothing appears to be chipped or broken. The crystal and bezel seem to be ok and not chipped or cracked. Do i need to watch out for anything? Do you think any internals could have been harmed?

Please forgive my paranoia. This is my first Rolex and it means a lot to me.

Thanks for any calming words.

I wouldn't worry if I were you. These watch are tough and built to take quite a bit of abuse. That crystal is sapphire and is not easy to scratch. Congrats on that gorgeous Sub . How about some pics now?

Thank you speed. Just how tough are these wathces? Obviously you wouldn't want to beat it with a hammer but I assume they are probably stronger than most?

Again, i appreciate any and all information. This is my first one and i have a feeling it could become an expensive hobby.

Welcome to TRF, buddy......and stop looking so LOST!!

Let me put it this way..........if you damaged the watch while it was still on your wrist, you'd be seriously looking at a very badly injured wrist!! I mean, real serious - hospital stuff!!

Relax and enjoy that beauty - some pics would be welcome!! Hope you enjoy your stay on this great forum of ours.

Cheers - JJ

The first scratch is the worse one. I may have had uncanny luck, but I wore a Sub through 3 1/2 years of my active duty service in the US Marine Corps. I was not a paper pusher; it saw infantry and boat company service that entire time. The only problems I ever experienced was catching the clasp and bending it twice. This gave me quite a bit of confidence in the Rolex brand.

I currently wear a GMT ll daily in police work....why spend all that money for dresser decoration- WEAR IT

To answer the question, nothing to worry about

The ceramic bezel is scratch resistance...but can shatter if dropped.

Typically, if your wrist can take the hit, so can the watch. Just keep and eye on the accuracy. If you take a good whack, you can effect the movement and alter time keeping. Welcome!

Hi Arjun,

Been there, not quite done that!! But it wasn't that bad in the '60s and '70s when I travelled by train...........but then the population was much less at the time.

Not me, buddy.........like I said, in the '60s it wasn't bad at all - but now with the ever growing population, that is sadly the reality of it all.

Don't even ask how many of those idiots get killed by passing steel girders which suppport the overhead power cables.

I had my own personal mode of transport.

Its too crazy at times, especially at office hours and I try to avoid them at all costs. You must know that the of local people here are used to it, but I just can't see myself traveling by them unless I really really have to. With chaotic traffic here, even people with cars prefer not to drive. Good thing my work place is just under a mile from home so I can easily drive :)

You're lucky you have less than a mile to drive.

I had to travel from Andheri to Kemps Corner everyday, but I would use my Kawasaki - best way to travel in Bombay (Mumbai)!!

Yes your co-worker.

No problems, just enjoy your new watch. It's a tool not a puppy.

Welcome.
