Buying SUB - How handle angry lady?
I hope to drop the bomb at home soon for my girl - that I decided to buy the 16610 LV
Now I need your help to protect myself from her and the throwing shoes, bottles and clever words which will be told me when I show it to her. This will be her first attack on me: 1. You idiot! You could travel to Mallorca 5 times for that money! 2. You stupido! What about renewing the bathroom you promised me! 3. Thats why you gave me your Tag Aquaracer wasnt it!!?! 4. What about the ski trip you was talking about!! 5. I still havent a ring on my finger because it was to expensive??!!PIG! You see, I will go through hell for my LV but I know its worth it What should I answer her and how did you manage your gf/wife after a expensive present to yourself? Help me! |

Wtf?
If you have to justify purchasing a nice watch for YOURSELF- with money that YOU earn.....
that's not a good thing. My partner's the real watch collector, I just "borrow" a lot of them.. so you can see why I support his "habit". Last edited by marcinthemiddle; 18 January 2010 at 10:04 AM.. Reason: needed to add more.. |

I agree! Find a new girlfriend or wife to go with your new Rolex. You only live once. Enjoy your watch and your life. Best of luck.

Not easy. I usually butter my wife up by getting her a watch. If you already did (Aquaracer), and that's not enough, then I'm not sure how else could you make it okay for her. As long as you're spending the money you earned with your hard work, and as long as you don't let your family starving, then it should be just alright to sometimes get yourself something nice -- a reward of some kind if you will.
Good luck! |

Good Luck ! I learned a long time ago that the only thing you can fib about buying are guns- "Ya know honey, thats the .38 i bought last year" To most ladies all guns are alike. Watches and jewelery on the other hand, will be spotted before you get out of the car. I would definitly have at least a consensus that it was an ok idea before I would do that.
Good luck, Andy |

1. Why the hell do I need to travel to Mallorca 5 times? 2. The bathroom's fine......you use it more than I do anyway!! 3. The TAG was worth giving up for this......consider yourself lucky I didn't give you up!! 4. Ski trip? Are you nuts? I'd much rather be nice and cosy tucked up against you in your warm arms!! 5. The ring.......do you have a firm commitment? Cheers - JJ

This reminds me when I bought my ex-girlfriend a Lincoln for Valentines day and she was MAD. I guess she wanted something smaller that wrapped around her finger. In short she walked out the door months later with the Lincoln, my 2 dogs and half my stuff.
All I wanted was for her car to stop dripping oil on my driveway. Either way I got what I wanted... no more leaking oil. Buying this Rolex, does it get what you want? |

Umm...I thought that sort of control did not happen until AFTER you get married. That's what happened to me...
This may be a picture of things to come. If it does go down like you predict...consider yourself warned. |

Step 1: Take back your family jewels.
Step 2: Buy the watch. Any questions?

Start learning how to sleep with 1 eye open and keep her away from the scissors.
Great choice on the watch though, enjoy. |
