I saw that as well. It's always cool when you go on Jake's blog and you see one of your pictures.

Thanks Tyler! I use a Canon Rebel Xsi with just the kit lens. It's a nice camera, easy to use and produces great results. A step up would be the T1i, I have heard great things about it.

Looks like they added some sharpen and change the contrast a bit.
JJ did you send him the image or did he find it, himself???? Kyle takes some great shots, but it appears he photoshops it, a lot!! |

I guess he send it with a $100 bill. I don't think Kyle PhotoShop so much, he have a Canon and then it looks so.

Are any of you aware of a thread describing some of the lighting and photographic techniques used by TRFers to take those beautiful watch photos? I have some high-end camera and flash equipment, but none of my photos even remotely approach the quality of JJ's, Kyle's or Jocke's. If no such thread exists, perhaps one of you could take some time and tell how you set up the lighting, camera settings, lenses, etc.

Are we going to take bets on how long it takes some scam artist to hijack Doc's wrist shot and use it on eBay ?

Anyway Joey, you seem to take pretty clear crisp shots! I usually just place my watch near a natural light source, like a window. From there it's all about angle, background, and the props you include in the picture. Jocke's a master at that. |

Ya gotta admit Kyle, that after what Doc went through, having his watch pictures boosted would truly suck swamp water !

Thanks, Kyle. I admire your photography skills. As far as someone stealing my photograph goes, it will be far less annoying than temporarily losing two watches and four grand. (BTW, no charges have yet been filed against the scammer, who was found to be conducting scams on watchzone.com as well.)

JJ's fame hasn't gotten to his head yet.
He still rides on public transportation with us "people". Sorry for the poor quality picture, it was a snapshot, I didn't want to bother his highness. |
