Ode To The Lowly Beater

Why in the Rolex section, you ask? It's related.
Wearing my Xezo GMT all this week on the road and it got me to thinking. When traveling for work I will wear my Rolex GMT, or the GMT and a beater, or just a beater depending on the work involved.
Wearing a beater, particularly when it's the appropriate watch for the situation, has many benefits for me.
-it keeps my Rolex from undue wear & tear.
-offers variety [God knows a wis needs that!].
-it reminds me I don't need a Rolex as a status symbol, but rather the proper tool that helps me in my job.
-wearing a beater also makes me appreciate the Rolex brand even more.
-it makes the return home that much sweeter when winding those Rolex oysters and deciding which will adorn my wrist.
Just some thoughts, your milage may vary.
