Is it normal.....

....to constantly stare at my wrist to look at my first Rolex? I feel like a complete jerk constantly staring at it but I am giddy. I got a SS Sub Date. I purchased it through TRF (justrolexes). It is just so damn nice looking.

I want to thank everyone here for all of the great advice that I got (while deciding on my purchase) while reading through the forums. Cheers everyone!

Define normal.

Is it normal to own more than two multi-thousand dollar watches? Is it normal to train yourself to sleep "crown down?"

You bet your clasp it is!

I have been looking at mine and polishing it with my shirt, eye glass wipe, admiring it....every day for 8+ years. My sales reps make fun of me when they catch me doing it at meetings.

It's even worse when I have on the YM and the darn PCL!

You will get used to it...and grow to accept it. :-)
Enjoy the Rolex....congrats.

That's what Rolexes are made for! You get to tell time with style. But as so many of us have said, all that style often gets in the way of actually knowing what time it is, no matter how long we've been staring at it.

Perfectly normal. When I bought my latest watch from my local Rolex AD, she warned me not to stare at it while I was driving home. She said she sold a Rolex to a lady the prior week and she kept staring at it while driving home and had an accident!

I'm pretty sure we can enjoin the AD in the lawsuit. This was clearly foreseeable--they should have called her a taxi.

I constantly have that problem, but we all worked hard to have our Rolexes so I think we have the right to stare at them as much as we want!! ENJOY!!

Funny....I was gong to start a similar thread tonight. I have had my LV close to 2 years now and I find myself staring at it constantly throughout the day... STILL!. It has gotten even worse since I received the new black insert from Steve. I even recently purchased 2 Tag Heuers to alternate but alas, I keep going back to the LV. I even take it off and hold it in my hand and let the light play on it. All that high quality machined 904L glistening so perfectly and luxuriously......sigh. I too am sick.

Is it normal to stare at other people's Rolexes?

Sorry I asked, but that's usually the next symptom to this disease we all have

Completely normal...

...and if you think that is silly, wait a few years down the road, for when you have feelings of missing your watch after you send it in for service.

Glad to see that I am not alone. I am dreading the time when I have to send it in for service!! I will definitely miss it.
