Is Rolex going Black for spring

Yes I know the Rolex Black Pvd's are out there by after market resellers but this article states this one is a Rolex colllabrative effort and not for public consumption. Could they be testing the market as they have apparantly teamed with a design house.
"This is perhaps one of the best reasons to be envious of those working at fragment design for Hiroshi Fujiwara (other than the fact that they are working for Hiroshi Fujiwara). Fujiwara has teamed up with Rolex to create collaborative Oyster Perpetual Air King watches featuring gun metal strap and face accented with pink dials and fragment design logo. The watches are gifted to employees of the firm, so unless you do work for the man, it seems unlikely anyone will be getting their wrists on these yet."

I'm pretty sure Rolex's collaboration goes only that far of supplying those special Air-Kings with the pink stuff on the dial -- in original uncoated SS. I don't think Rolex puts that PVD or DLC coating onto any watches, and especially not on bracelets, no matter who orders it.

I didn't say I liked it but it got me wondering if Rolex is playing with the idea of doing a Black watch. The desiner is very out there .

Wow, that is nasty. I'm sure if Rolex were to go black, it would be very tasteful.

Just because a blog says it's a collaboration, that doesn't make it so. I'm guessing it's just a company that chose to customize a bunch of Air Kings and give them out to employees.

First there was the Oyster Perpetual Air King created for the staff of Fragment Design, then there’s the SOPH. 10th Anniversary Rolex Submariner, and just previewed not too long ago in November, the Oyster Perpetual Explorer which is now available at Paris’ colette. The new Oyster Perpetual Explorer features Rolex’s famed “Mercedes” hour hand, and remains simple and cool in all black aside from jolts of color in the 3, 6, 9 markers and the second hand. Fragment Design’s double lightning logo makes an appearance on the watch face and bears a great resemblance to other Fragment Design Rolex creations that all share the fuss-free monochrome black.

I must say I really don't like PVD on any watch, especially rolex. Not my cuppa tea, but each to their own.

This is a crossover with Bamford and Fragment. Got nothing to do with rolex.

I like both Rolex & Fragment. Can't say I like pro-hunter or Bamford & Sons. But I don't like them together as a product.
