Out of AD...in the box or on the wrist?

So you've just bought a brand new Rolex from your AD.

How do you walk out of the AD with it?

1. Leave it in the box, all nicely packed up with a big, sexy carry bag...

2. Slap it straight away on the wrist (after the AD has resized it, if necessary)?

Me? I prefer to leave it in the box and then wear it on a certain occasion which suits me!!

Cheers - JJ

Okay, but with stickers, etc. still on...or do you perform a peeling process in front of the AD?

BOX! definitely... I remember I went to Tiffany's in downtown Toronto and bought a diamond necklace for my sister and walked around with a tiffany's bag and a couple of girls chatted me up! Coincidence? I think not ;)

I wore my DJ and GMT out the door, and I kept the SD in the box and sexy bag

I always prefer to bring my watch home, in the bag and packaged. I enjoy opening the watch and staring at it for a few minutes before placing it on my wrist. I have one of those nice little Rolex SD screwdrivers, so I prefer to size the watch myself (just don’t trust the store).

In this case, I don't think SIZE really matters.....shape is more important at times like this!!

i wore both DJ's on the way out, and my wife wore hers on the way out too. The AD sizes them while still there, or I come back for a better fit. They annoyingly peel the stickers of for me in front of me. I found one left behind in the clasp of hers a month later, and inside my Oyster bracelet there was one left behind.

I never need resizing with Rollies, but the rest I prefer to do myself!!

I wore mine out of the shop on my wrist. Gave the old watch I had been wearing a ride home in the new box.

Wouldn't know. Never bought from an AD, even though about half my collection was NIB.

I wore mine right out the door. My Heuer spent the car ride home in the Rolex box.

When I bought my sub, I took it home in the box and fancy rolex paper bag. Then I went through the pleasure of opening and worshiping.

Always wear them out the door.
Okay, once I tried to keep it in the box for a while, but that only lasted about 2 days.
My wife, on getting her 219, wore it out of the store.
About 15 minutes into the drive, she is still admiring her watch. I waited until she looked up and I asked "what time is it?"
She had no idea.

Me, it depends, sometimes on the wrist, sometimes wait till I get home.

With you JJ, it is straight from the AD to the sales corner.

my wife did that to me with my new DJ, I have no idea what time it was when she asked me eventhough I was starting at my watch. (staring at the dial)

Actually, I like doing this to people.
Try it and see.
Most people will not know what time it is after they look at their watch.
Wait until someone looks. Then immediately ask them what time it is.
More often than not, they will have to look back at the watch

Depends... if it is a xmas gift, I wait till after xmas eve to put it on the wrist.

If it is just a pulling the trigger moment, I would wear it right away.
