UK - Anyone seen a SS Daytona in an AD window?
Hi
A few members on here have picked up SS Daytonas by just passing an AD window who had one to sell. If anyone has spotted any, please let me know! Cheers Rich |

I have only been looking for the last few months, but have not seen any SS Daytonas in any London ADs. From what I hear, ADs get only a couple a year which they usually sell to customers on a waiting list.

I know you are nowhere near Hawaii, but when I was down there two months ago they had both a black and white face one sitting in their display case.

I fancied a SS Daytona about 3 months ago and decided I wanted one. Everyone told me I had no chance, but I was determined, so I spent a few weekends travelling the country visiting ADs waving my credit card to prove I was serious. In the end an AD admitted to me that they had one in the safe but the customer could not come up with the money. After much persuasion he was swiping my card... Thats my advice, get out there and look. Dont phone around coz they get so many daytona calls they will fob you off with a "no". Get into the car and get travelling :) Worth it in the end :) |

I went in to an AD in Sweden (where i live) and just asked for a SS Daytona, and they said that it takes about 1-2 weeks for them to get me one, so i just ordered it like 2 days ago. Is the SS daytona hard to get in other parts of the world? Was i just lucky? Why is it so hard to get? Thank u all |

I have never seen a SS Daytona in a UK AD's window. Had to wait 15 months for mine.

I was just at an AD today and asked them how often they get in the SS Daytonas. They said not often. I asked if there was a waiting list or if it was first come first serve. They said the watches never even make it to the case. They only call their top customers to see if they are interested and the watches go to them.

Was one in my local ADs safe which I missed by a day and I know the Trafford Centre had one in the window that someone purchased just by walking in, so it does happen.

also, spend 6300 on a brand new SS Daytona and next year it will still be worth at least that....or spend 6k on a TT Sub and what will it be worth next year? so all you are saying doesnt make sense. |

It does happen, I managed it, and you managed it, but the masses who want Daytonas cannot get them. |

I was in Salzburg recently. It's a very rich city and they have a luxury watch shop about every ten yards. The main Rolex dealer by the bridge had virtually every model on display, including several Daytonas.
Half the watches disappeared from the display (must have been sold) but the next day there was a new batch, including new Daytonas. They don't seem to have any trouble getting them round there. |

It is the SS Daytona 116520 that is never "in stock". Some people comment that they see them sitting in ADs windows, and 99% of the time people have spotted White Gold which look very similar and think they are SS. To clarify, all Daytonas are easy to get, but its the Stainless Steel only that is virtually impossible. |

Never seen one in Manchester, all 3 ADs are within 30 feet of each other except for Goldsmiths in the Trafford Centre, so I usually have a ponder while I'm there.
