Larry, did you notice in the specs that the green Cerachrom insert has platinum graduations? Wouldn't that suggest this watch could be more expensive than we think?

The GMT IIc already has either gold or platinum PVD numbers, so I think that the price point will be slightly above that as a base...... I think the price driver on this watch will be the "Green Gold" dial - whatever that means..

So the new submariner, will be available in 3 colours, black on black, green on green and blue on blue.

My opinion is that the blue/blue (in white gold), will decrease his appeal, because it is only a matter of different metal, no longer different case, different bezel, different dots size.

And of course, if i ever will buy a new black sub, i will also buy a blue dial end blue bezel....... who will know it is only Ssteel instead of Wgold??

I have to admit, the new LV looks better in these pics than the ones I saw on the main board. I still don't see myself wearing a green dialed watch, though.

I like the dial! It almost makes the ceramic bezel seem washed out, the blue dial should have the same treatment. I am most curious to see what "green gold" means.

the WG sub has polished WG center links versus the 904L steel on both the black subC and the Hulk sub...

At first I hated it but now.............Showed the pic to my dad thinking he would throw up and he actually liked it. I wouldn't buy one but I think it will sell.

I love the sunburst design dial,making the color seem to vary.....its so vibrant and rich!!!

Sadly,i cannot conclude the same about the bezel color....they should have stayed with a black ceramic bezel and let the beautiful dial do the "Green Reference thing," until they have a colored ceramic which is bright,vibrant and lusterous.


We should reserve any final judgements until we see in in the flesh though.
I remember thinking how hideous the green dial GMT always looked.....until i finally saw one in person,...stunning....totally different from the photos!!!!!

Rolex won't sell the blue bezel and dial to just anyone. Your watch has to be damaged and sent to them as they want to control the availability of these kinds of parts to deter people from doing what you suggested. They do the same thing with LV bezels. Plus, even if you did WIS's like us would spot the fact you wouldn't have PCL's and therefore not a true WG sub

its a bit too green...the dial was fine enough being black when the bezel was green...the LV actualy looked really lovely...I would like to know two things:

1). is this green dial version a limited edition and there will be the regular LV with ceramic green bezel afterwards?

2). is the dial of all the new ceramic subs (blk/blue/green) 'maxi' dial or is that still unique to the LV?

1) there has not been any indication of any other LV's.

2) All Sub ceramics hava a maxi-dial..

i would really like to see a black dial option but other than that the new case looks great if they dont offer a black dial i will most likely pick up a LN and pick up the older lv.

I am considering this watch as my first Rolex. I currently own a Breitling Super-Ocean with a coral dial. I like the unusual dial colors and that's what got me interested in this watch. Is this the only green dial watch in the Rolex lineup? Were there any other green dials in previous models?
