Under warrrant and not under COSC standard

I have an SD and it is running a little fast. On Monday I was two minutes ahead and on Thursday I am 3 minute ahead. The watch is still under warranty. If I send it to Rolex will they charge me? Is it worth it to send in?

Yes, Rolex will regulate the watch for you. If the watch is brand new, within a few months, I would wait a while to see if the watch "settles in". If not, check if you AD has a Rolex tech / watchmaker. Some can regulate the watch while you wait. If you send it to Rolex (service center), it may take a few weeks.

If you send it to the service center to be regulated, will Rolex automatically replace any parts that have been scratched (eg the crystal or bezel) for free?

nope.. why would they do that... When you change the oil in the car they do not paint it again for you..

Last time I went to the dealership for a front end noise, I received my car back about a week later and it was a different color, had navagation, replaced the tires, and had a full tank.........

They would do this when you have it serviced, and only if the crystal is in bad shape. Of course, by service time, the warranty would have long expired.

I am sure that if you offer to pay for a new crystal they would change it for you, expect about $150 to have it replaced.

Just call around to jewelers and see if someone has a Rolex certified watchmaker in house. It's maybe $30-50 to have it regulated. I have mine done with a pressure test each spring.

First you cannot test any watch for accuracy that way, first wind watch fully 40 full crown turns clockwise. Then set watch with a reliable time source, wear as normal.Check time daily with same setting source over 5 days then average out the lose or gain over those 5 days. The COSC spec is a average of -4 to + 6 seconds a day.And regulation is only a 30 minute job if needed, if AD has in house watchmaker or live near a RSC they could do it while you wait there will be no charge for simple regulation.

I'll agree with Padi..

Make sure that you do a proper test with a proper standard time source.. It would help your watmaker tremendously if he knows exactly what the watch is doing......

My GMT IIc was consistently losing time. Under warranty , I sent to Rolex NYC. Had it back in two weeks. Keeping time right on the button.
