Oh oh... I'm in TRouble!
Went out with my wifey today since its holiday...
After dinner, she went to visit some of her friends at LV,Channel and etc So I decided as well to visit my friends at some ADs. I've finally decided to try some PAM cause I have been drooling from some of the post here at TRF After trying it..... Oh my Oh my!!! it not only Talks! IT SINGS!! The owner offered my Subbie + 2250US for a BNEW Pam 312! What the! Never expect this to happen but that really got me thinking for a moment.. Finally got my composure back and politely told him that I will think it over What would you do if you are me? Should I join the DARK side as well?

If you've got another Rolex at home, then maybe. But, if your Sub is your only then you should hang onto it and get the 312 anyway. The 312 is a great piece!

if you have enough cash to take the $2250 and put it towards buying the new sub-c or a good pre-loved sub, then YES, do it. the 312 is STUNNING.
otherwise, maybe do it anyway, and take the $2250 and save for a new or pre-loved sub? change is good! |

From the pictures it seems a little too big. What is your wrist size?
Have you tried PAM24 or 25 yet? |

I would keep my sub and when you can get one outright--go for it--great watches!

I am actually quite satisfied with the current line up.. But there is something about this PAM312 that intrigues me Finance is not actually the issue here. but can I justify to my wife of having another watch as my weekend watch maybe? FLipping one of my Rollie before getting it would be easy..... but I dunno if I can do that

That's a lovely position to be in & IMO I wouldn't 'flip' anything then.
(& if the 312 sings to you I'd buy her anyway! )

if you don't feel like justifying things to the wifey, i'd think you can flip the GV and use the 312 as the dress watch (if it's not too big on you), and keep the sub as the everyday one. i've been filing your thread, sorry. it's because i really, REALLY like the 312, and hope to have it some day. i'm just living through you at the moment. thanks! |

Don't do the trade. The 16610 is a classic - why do you think it's remained virtually unchanged for so many years?
As much as I like the Panerai, I don't think it's worth the trade. I think the novelty of the larger watch will wear off. Not to mention, I'm sure the Sub probably fits you better than the Pam. If you do the trade, there may be a high probability of you buying another 16610 later (in the used market as they're discontinued). Good luck either way. |

Oh no! Another good member lost to the Dark Side!
I would say keep the sub, but it seems like you're losing sleep over the PAM. Losing sleep is one of my conditions for buying a watch, and although I am firmly on the Rolex side of enthusiasm, it sounds like you will be happy with this purchase.

Carlos you have got it bad!!!!!!
So which would be your every day watch if you got the 312???? I think Pams are fantastic....but i would not consider one as a daily wearer for me. I would rather swap my GV rather than my Sub and use the 312 as the occasional watch and the Sub for daily. OR....just buy 312 outright...and we can all drool over the pics!!!! Good luck deciding!! |

i would say keep the cash
i bought two pams in early year and im still a big fan of panerai panerai has attractive and tough outlook, but itz now highly overpriced the case is extremely easy to get scratched,n in this 312,i do think itz odd without a cyclops on the large dial |

But I honestly finds PAM with the cyclops a bit odd though. Oh well.. We'll see where this curiousity will lead me to

i agree with this. if you have another rolex, then maybe. if the sub is your only rolex, then i wouldn't. i love the 312 as well. I wish I gotten this over my pam 90. i love the non-cyclops look although i think the cyclops (more like reverse compare to rolex) more than the rolex cyclops as it's flushed and flows better in my opinion. what's the going rate on the 312? maybe you can find a pre-loved 312?

it seems too large for your wrist. maybe a 40mm Panerai would be better. just my HO.

You are ruined! You will join the dark side shortly! You have the Sub, the GV... and to join my trifecta - you need the 312. Here is what your crew will look like...

I think Joey's post just sealed your fate, Carlos! Those three side-by-side-by-side look great! Don't flip, just add! Nice pic BTW, Joey!

Keep your Sub... If you do the deal that means you will be selling you V Sub For $4150... and that is way tooo low.
you can get the 312 for $6400 new less the $2250 = $4150
