Has anyone changed the bezel on an LV to black?
is this a big job? and what cost is involved?

Thanks in advance for any info,

It's actually fairly easy once you get your hands on a genuine black bezel insert. Just slip a knife (preferably butter knife) under the bezel, pop it off, snap off the insert, pop in the new insert, press it upside down on a table on top on a piece of cloth to snap it in firmly, and press the whole bezel back on the watch. There's a little spring and a metal washer type thing under the bezel when you take it off. Be extra careful not to lose these and your set.

Cost of insert from a friendly AD - £40.

It's a fairly straightforward job if you take reasonable care and took me 15 minutes. I used plenty of tape on the areas that could have got scratched.

Apparently Jocke has created a well regarded pictorial on the process though I've not seen it I'm sure someone has the link.

Here's the tutorial. It's amazing how hard it seemed the first time and how basic it is every time thereafter.

a bit scary the first time but with a bit of practice can do it in a couple of minutes. Just by changing the bezel to black totally transforms the look of the watch.

Congrats on the LV too!

Has anyone notice how much bigger it wears when it's got the black bezel on? After I swapped mine I couldn't believe how much larger the watch seemed. I suppose it's the uniform bezel/dial color tricking the eye.

What would you do with 2 Subs?

Trade one for a 312?

Hope you win it, buddy!
