A question on the weight of the DSSD?????

I have read Tools very informational post on the DSSD from April 2008, in which the weight is listed as 222g. However, I have seen weight disparities on this model from 212 to 222g. Mine was purchased from an AD new 3/4/2010, all items were checked for authenticity and every thing is ship-shape!! The weight was measured at 215g (including all links) ?????

Has anyone else weighed their DSSD???

Just trying to figure out what is up.......

I think the figure of 215 grams is spot-on; of course that would have to include all original links. I too have seen this weight actualy posted with the watch on a weighing scale.

I just got in from a trip to my butcher and he weighed my DeepSea, it registered at 214.5 grams. This was with no links removed, so 215 grams is pretty spot on.

Thanks guys, mine was actually a little less than 215g's, rounded up. So it would appear that 215g would be the new official weight.

Perhaps Rolex should put the weight and all the dimensions in the box like

Mine was 215 when brand new , all links and stickers in place .

Just found this thread very interesting because I read the Watchtime review and other articles which listed the DSSD weight as 220 Grams, just weighed mine and its 209 Grams with two links out and 216 with the 2 links included so spot on with everyone else's findings. I guess Rolex just rounded the figure up to 220 Grams....

The official Rolex weigh in includes the Warranty Card on the scale too...that's where the extra 4 grams comes from

And they also rounded up to 44mm....I think it's actually 43

Well, don't forget the humidity in northern America against the tropics, and differential gravity pull near the pole. Needs a factor of 1.000003685

So mine works out to be 215.0047184

Ordinarily no it doesn't, I can't speak for the original starters of the thread but the reason I was curious was because my Rolex DSSD was brought pre-owned from a well respected member of another forum I frequent, it's complete with all box, papers, tags etc and of course everything was checked but just for added piece of mind it was reassuring to weigh it and see that it was spot on to the nearest gram. My Rolex YM 116622 was bought brand new from my local Rolex AD so consequently I had absolutely no interest in the weight, hope that makes sense.....

And does the weight make it genuine and things today like the boxes,tags, so called papers are the easiest to fake with today's technology. So never just rely on these alone tp prove authenticity of any watch unless bought from a reliable source .And if you bought from a well respected member of any known net forum its doubtful if you would have a problem with any watch.
