Geneva window shopping advice
I'll be passing through Geneva later today by car. Any recommendations for good Rolex window shopping?
Thanks. |

Trying to take the high road here and not feed the troll, but, it has to be said Johny that the only non-normal person here is you with all of your inane posts. Time to move on, please, thanks. |

Your guess is as good as mine! Didn't think asking for AD advice in Geneva would be so controversial!! Our young Scottish friend is still sore that I had the nerve to say that, IMO, Costco carrying Rolex was a bad thing.
Looking on the bright side, at least it kept the thread up top on the off chance anyone had a lead. Anyway, almost to Geneva and still have some time before I have to go pick up a friend at the airport. I'll do some poking around and report back if I find anything worthwhile. |

Trying to get back to the original thread, Bucherer seems to have a good reputation and relationship with Rolex, I expect you'll be able to see plenty of interesting models there

We would love to see some photos of what you find there. Good luck with your quest.

Bonjour Bill, There are a few nice stores in Geneva. Bucherer and the Rolex store come to mind. Passe une bonne journee.

Been reading this one all day. What's going on? I thought this was just the sort of question people were allowed to ask on here without getting a load of abuse?????

Well at least that explains it a bit. All though surely we all love the same thing at the end of the day?

Figure I'd respond to the original post since there weren't many answers.
Just go to the town center by the lake and walk around. There are some stores on the train station side of the lake but the old village side has better window shopping in general. That's where the more boutique-y and upscale brand-specific stores are. If you've ever been to New York City, the train station side of the lake in Geneva is like Times square, whereas the old village side is like Soho. Bucherer has stores in both sections but you'll generally see the same things at both locations. |

I drove from Kiel to Marseille last week, and stopped in Frankfurt and Geneva to have a look. I was disappointed that the prices were so high in both places. The selection was pretty good in Geneva though.

Thanks all VERY MUCH for your advice and suggestions.
I unfortunatley didn't check TRF until getting to our destination here in the Alps, but I'm back in Geneva late Saturday afternoon or early evening, so I hope to take advantage of your advice then... I'm not really in the market right now after having just gotten the polar Explorer, but I'm very psyched for some window shopping and dreaming. One thing I've noticed so far is how INSANE the Geneva airport is with high-end watch ads....I felt like a kid in a candy store! |

If you like the ads in GVA airport wait until you check out the shops in departurtes. The have their own Rolex and Omega stores plus concessions for pretty much every other watch maker known to man! Also, if you're wandering around town just as a piece of ancilliary info on top of what others have said, check out the antique/2nd hand shops in the old town and on rue du Generale dufour and the rue du theatre. Happy hunting!! |
