Good reading, thank you for the link. Seems like she got the Patrick Rafter DateJust for her husband. Good choice, especially as I too love the DateJust.
My DateJust is a beauty and going stronger than ever after 30+ years. The DateJust has to be the quintesential utlaitarian cool Rolex....well apart from about half a dozen other Rolex watches. Patrick Rafter is much cooler than Brad Pitt, as naturally all Aussies are |

How often have you had it serviced?

Well Ed, I've only had the DJ for about 12 months. I have had it serviced once by a local watchmaker for $150. I also had the hands changed.
When the caseback was removed for the first time, I was presented with a mint condition movement, glistening, no corrosion anywhere on the case/caseback either. The watch keeps very good time. Not too bad for my requirements. Sometimes, I think it is a little boring, but then it's almost impossible to fault it. The matt black dial gives it a sportiness that I like, whilst overall the watch has a degree of elegance akin to a dedicated dress watch. It's the kind of watch that the more I look the more I like. I paid about US$1,200 delivered + the service all up, you gotta love that! :) |

I know... I was hoping it'd continue after cel phone monkey's little rant...
"My cell phone takes better time than a Rolex ever will. I can make phone calls on it, take photos and listen to music on it too. Until they actually make the James Bond version wristwatch that makes phone calls, plays music, and takes photos, I believe the wristwatch is headed the way of the rotary phone." Whatever...
