The RSC works its magic
Again, with thanks to Amanda for introducing me to the Tudor Mini Sub, here are some before and after shots of my latest acquisition
And now, after 5 weeks in Dallas... The work included a new bracelet, new bezel & insert, new crown/tube and new hands. I know this is the Rolex site, and the MiniSub is way too small for those who think the 40mm is a tad small, but, hey, it works for me. One observation is the RSC replaces the Tudor Crown with a Rolex crown. Another observation, the Tudor's I've recently acquired (two different MiniSubs) come back keeping time EXACTLY. One more of the before... |

Nice, what a difference in the before and after pics. Are the TT Tudors solid gold like Rolex or plated?

Nice job they did, but did they just surprised you with the rolex crown or did they told you that its going to be a rolex crown first?

That's cool man. Very nice.
What is the diameter on those compared to a sub? That might be just what I'm lookin for. Full size divers are too big for me. |

This particular Tudor MiniSub is actually gold plated. I had asked for a new bezel insert and a new bracelet and an RSC usually replaces the Crown. The size is 32mm without the crown, so it comes in at about 35mm with the crown and lug to lug is just shy of 40mm.
The service order just specifies replacement of the crown. It's kind of interesting that the shield is replaced with the coronet, at least here in Rolex USA-land. The RSC did the same thing to an SS MiniSub I sent in about two months ago. It too went in with a Tudor crown and emerged with a Rolex crown. My educated guess is it dates back to the late 80's in this combo. And, I took a chance and acquired it off the Bay Auction. One other note that interesting to me...when the service order proposed a new bracelet, I asked about having them size it. They said sure and on the service order offered to return the unused links and listed the 'official part description' which made no sense to me. Now, I assumed I'd be getting a newer style bracelet that had the screw links for adjustment, because the original folded link only adjusts at the clasp. But, when the watch arrived, it had a new, old stock, folded link bracelet, and what Rolex had done was gently pry open the attachment links, removed them, and then refolded them in a manner that is undectable to me. Now if I'd tried that with my vise grips, it would have ruined it. |

That's great. I had heard that Rolex USA would not service the Tudor's, but overseas RSC's will/do.
Very nice looking.

Great work by that RSC. I have had similar results from the one I use, although the problems were not major in the first place.

Great job. I don't think it looks bad at all with the coronet crown.
Hey....most older Tudors had it to begin with. |
