how many SS daytona owners got a discount?

just wondering if anyone here got a Discount when purchasing your SS daytona new from the AD? Also i would like to know how you pulled off such a thing, when people wait years for one to come in with their name on it..

I started to look at a SS Daytona like 2 months ago. Went in to my local AD (only one in my city) and ordered one. He said it takes 2-3 weeks. No Discount.

I told my friend this, and he told me that he just buyed a Breitling from an AD in another city and got 33% Discount. I asked him mostly for fun if he wanted to call his AD and ask for a nice price. When we hang up he instantly called the AD and gave him my number.
A little later i got a text message from the owner of that shop, and he gave me 15% off a new daytona. He told me that thats what discount we start at with the first watch:) I will get around 25-35% discount from now on.

Soo..i transferred money to him, and i called my local ad to tell them that i no longer wanted my ordered DAytona.

This wass the 8th of April, so i hope ill get my watch this week!

Soo.- 15% off!

Wow good deal. Can you get a second SS daytona with the 25-35% discount?

This is a local purchase in Sweden where your VAT tax rate is 25%? Still sounds good.

Value Added Tax...

Pretty much a hidden tax. Every stage of production of a product is taxed...(whenever value is added to it) so its passed on to the consumer. You dont see the tax, so you really dont know exactly how bad the guhb-mint is screwing you.

I see preowned ones in Tourneau going for 16k. It's insane if you ask me.

I bought mine preowned (in excellent condition) from a reputable seller here on TRF for 10% below retail.

shoot, i had to pay full retail 2 months ago plus a 2% credit card fee, but i only but like 500 bucks on the card and the rest in cash... i have never heard of a discount being offered on a daytona before, as these ad's can get rid of them instantly without discount... so you guys and girls that got a discount are the most lucky people i know.

I got a discount on the premium lol it was selling aywhere in between $18,000 and $20,000 Singapore dollars in the April/May 2008 and was impossible to find, and i think the exchange rate then was 1.39 to the US dollar. And then the financial crises happened and the dollar also became weaker....I bought it for $16,000 Singapore dollars on an exchange rate of 1.52...so i paid a few hundred more than list price...was an awesome deal to me...now its back up at $18,000 and the exchange rate is 1.40?

Not to start a fight or a debate, but wouldn't one AD have had to do better then he did? Or did he take a loss to sell you the Daytona. Unless DavidSW is getting them off the production line, he had to buy it from some AD. Maybe for you, being who you are, he didn't mark it up ...but somewhere the AD sold it at that price or slightly lower - no?

For the record, I got mine at pretty close to retail but have received nice discounts in the past... and my AD throws in some Rolex "toys" whenever they can.

The VAT (moms) in Sweden is 25% - and if you're living outside the EU you'll get something between 13-17% back.

Cheers,
Joe

I paid £6460 for mine. I had to pay pay extra to get a white face put in as it was originaly black. Am I likely to get a discount from the same dealer if I buy another watch from them in the future?
