GMTIIc Super Jubile Bracelet
Well after much debate and research, and pretty much soul searching I have decided to go ahead and save up to buy a SS GMTIIc. I have thought about this for a few months now and been debating if I really want to spend upwards of 6k on a watch, to me its way too much for a watch. I plan to buy from right here at TRF. I have seen some for sale for 5k or a little more. I will be buying sometime next year, gonna save up as much as I can.
One thing however is that I want to buy it with a Super Jubile bracelet. If I buy it from an AD will they change it for me? I am completely in love with the Super Jubile bracelet and the GMTIIc. I was debating on getting a DateJust blue face dial with roman numerals because it comes with the Super Jubile. So basically I was gonna give up the GMTIIc for a DateJust because of the bracelet. But I think its better to buy the GMTIIc and place a Super Jubile bracelet on it. What I like about the bracelet is the hidden clasp and the fact that you pull on the crown to open it, I find that extremely sexy. ANyone have a GMTIIc with a Super Jubile bracelet? Anyone witha Rolex with a SUper Jubile bracelet please post some pics of the bracelet and hidden clasp crown. I am eager to get this watch. |

Hi Hector,
While I can understand your eagerness in possessing the SJ bracelet, your AD will not swap it for the original Oysterlock bracelet (with Easy Link extension) that comes standard on the GMT-IIC. The SJ has been designed for a 36 mm case and the fit on the larger 40 mm GMT-IIC will NOT be 100% perfect. Due to the larger circumference of the GMT-IIC case, there will be a gap left between the SEL of the SJ and the case. Furthermore, the GMT comes with a 2 mm thick spring-bar. The SJ SEL has been designed ONLY for the 1.8 mm spring-bar which means you could be compromising the security of the watch with the thinner bar. The 2 mm spring-bar will NOT fit through the SEL of the SJ bracelet. JJ

Agree with all of JJ's points as I now have a Super Jubilee on my Exp II - not a perfect fit and I do wonder if it's safe to use the 1.8mm spring bars...
In any case it looks GREAT!

I love the look of the Super Jubilee (It looks great on Anders watch) - I used to have on on my DJ and it was a great bracelet. But with my 2003 GMT II I have decided to get the old style Jubilee because that bracelet is original to the watch and will be a perfect fit.

It also gives it the modern vintage look that everyone loves. Overall very happy with the Super and I am actually considering getting a second as these only go up in value and I will be adding a few more watches to the collection this year that might benefit from a Super...
