Hi all, just a question about my Explorer II.'ve seen a few pics on here of Rolexes with a really strong lume on them.Mine doesn't seem to glow that strong in the dark.It's the older T25 model.Could this be the reason why?

Almost certainly. My old sub with T25 only glows slightly in the dark.

Tritium's life is around 12.5 years,but gets much weaker from around eight to 10 years, roughly half of original after about 12 years very little if any.

For some reason, Hammer, Rolex lumes are not that great. My Y series (2004) GMT-II is not the brightest star in the firmament in the dark, especially when I compare it to my 5-6 year old Omega X-33 or even my 2004 GP ww.tc, both of which are much easier to read in zero light conditions for a longer period of time.

Tritium, as the guys have said, is pretty useless after a few years. Super Luminova is the best way to go....and the new Omega Planet Ocean says it....in style and with a glow....

Hey JJ, this is a ROLEX section... what are you doing posting a pic of a pumpkin (although, thanks for caring enough to show it in the dark. Prolly never seen the pumpkin look so good!).

Very bright glow JJ,looks better in the dark,or better still it its box locked
in a safe at my house, for safe keeping excuse pun.

Actually, Peter, I have to admit (almost reluctantly) that the Ommie glow puts all other Rollies to shame.

The Super Luminova makes it easy to see the time in a movie house (for example) right through the entire duration of the movie. With a Rollie, it gets nigh impossible to see the time after the first half hour has elapsed.

Why reluctantly if its true JJ,at the moment that £200 Vixa is keeping more
acurate time, and has better lume glow that any of my Rolex.
