What should i look for?

I think i'm ready for a used Deep Sea Sea Dweller but just have a couple of questions. When buying a used one from somebody on the forums what should I be looking for? I'm not a Rolex expert so I need some help! I think I'll get a V serial because it's newer but does the serial matter all that much? What comes with the Deep Sea when you get it from AD? Does everyone comes with the punch card? How does warranty card work? Thank you everyone

Well, you will need to do a little detective work yourself.
First do a search on ebay Rolex Seadweller.
And check NEW on the side so that you will only see new Seadwellers.
Look closely and see what is being offered.
Then look at the FS forum and wait for a V serial to show up.
And compare the price.
Then you'll have an idea.
And if you see a Super Cheap Deal Seadweller on ebay - you can forget it. If you buy that you won't live to see that watch arrive in your mail box!

1. Yes V is newer than M but the watches are identical - and M's will be a bit cheaper.
2. My DSSD came from the AD with white sleeve, outer cardboard box, inner green Rolex box, red and green tags, bezel protector, polishing cloth, warranty card and watch.
3. You'll need the warranty card if warranty work is needed during the first two years after watch was originally purchased. After that you're on your own where service is concerned.

There are allot of good people selling them here on the forum. keep your eyes open and you can get a new on for a much better price then the AD

Are you looking to buy new or used?

I just completed a great transaction with a TRFer here on the sales forum for a DSSD and Milgauss GV. Do your research and you will find a great deal here.

thanks red eye for showing me that thread. I'm more worried than ever because those are really good fakes and I'm a Rolex Newb (not that i'm an expert in any watches). Fakes won't come with Warranty cards?

That link was not meant to deter you from buying a DSSD. I pointed that out to you because it's very educational and based on the information in there, I became very confident to know what was legit and what was not.

As a matter a fact, I did not buy mine until after I read that thread because I learned so much that I knew immediately if one was fake or one was real.

Like I said earlier, I did not mean to worry you. Only to help educate as others have done for me. There are no good fakes. There is always something that they cannot reproduce exactly. I'm sure eventually when they can reproduce it, Rolex will come out with a whole bunch of new counter measures.

Read the forums and learn as much as you can from the experts here, then you can make an educated decision. Just remember, not everybody in this world is out to rip you off. There are legitimate sellers out there. A lot of them are part of this forum. I trust some of the sellers here more than I trust my local dealers.

I appreciate you guys taking the time to reply me and bring up what I should look for. I was just wowed with the imitation world out there. Stopped by a AD on the way home today and one thing he did bring up was that if the warranty card is written in French it's not really suppose to be distributed in the US market and if it's illegally brought in Rolex will confiscate it? That was good because I was thinking about getting a deep sea but it does have french writings...do i worry too much? I'm just afraid later on down the road when i service my watch rolex will take it away from me.
