Your first Rolex
I was fortunate to inherit at 18 my late grandfather's day date gold. However my first rolex which I bought was in 1989. I was attending an Exxon course in Singapore did not have much money. The sapphire crystals were the rage at the time. So being poor I found one watch with acrylic bezel which I could afford it was the 5513 non date. When I came back home people derided me on my taste but I feel better now. I will post pics soon when I lean how to reduce the file size, This thread may have been posted before but I was scrummaging through old papers and found a recipt from Cortina Watch Company who were then located in Raffles mall which was close as I was staying a Marina Mandarin Hotel in Singapore,

Your 5513 buy made your friends laugh huh
I'd feel good having one too. Look forward to seeing pics of both your watches. |

This one, a 6082 from 1050. Paid $911 for her, maybe "too much" But I don't care!

168000 purchased new in Oct 1987 for $1250 from my local AD. Still have it and wear it almost everyday. At one point it went 14 years w/o stopping as I never (never) took it off! Still looks awesome after all these years!

Here is my first, a 14060 BNIB, purchased new in February 1994. I recall (to this day) the day I bought it. Purchased while in Hong Kong, on a business trip at La Suisse Watch in Causeway Bay.
I still have it -

I bought my first Rolex, a GMT II Pepsi, in 2000. Here is my first Rolex posing with my first watch (given to me by my parents sometime in the mid to late sixties).
