Icon6 Car Rental Advice (Florida)

Hi Guys,

I am coming to Orlando on honeymoon in a week :)

I have been to Florida over 10 times, but havent rented a car for a while.

I have booked an Intermediate car through HERTZ with the Never-Lost system.

My question is, do most cars in the USA have an ipod jack as standard? If not I will have to bring loads of CDs for the car.

Most cars here in the UK now have the little socket to plug them in, but I didnt know if the USA was the same (although I am sure it is).

Also what do they give you as an Intermediate? I have a Gold Hertz Card, and normally get upgrades, so that may help...

Cheers in advance,

Nairn

I have yet to run across a Rental with a dock, but perhaps I don't rent from the right places-Alamo, budget and National. But lately most have had the Aux port so I got a cable from radioShack to plug into where the Headphone plugs in on as Ipod and then just plug into the Aux. Sometimes they hide that port in the Glovebox so you may have to look for it. In any case just ask the rental guy.
Another thing many do not know is that most cars in rental fleets do not come with AntiLock brakes. My company requires us to only rent cars with them on it so that engenders some interesting conversations with the rental clerk while they try and deduce which ones have it. So far I have always found one. If you are used to them I'd reccommend trying to get them as they can save your life.
All the best,
Andy

no ABS? That has been law in the UK for many years now!
I am really shocked by that to be honest....
