Unfortunately, the upper anchorage portion of the locks I was inspecting is located in a recess in the lock wall. You can see it from afar in the third and fourth pics-where the linkage is. Luckily I didn't run into any of the serpentine critters in close quarters. Just lots of grease and spiders.
