will a deepsea crown fit on a submariner?
i was just wondering if a deepsea crown which is larger than the normal triplock, will it fit on a submariner? if it has it's own larger tube with it, i wonder if that would all fit onto the submariner case, lets just say there were no crown gaurds on the sub case, would it fit?

have you tried it? i think the crown is larger and thicker but the tube might remain the same size as a normal sub? Do you think any watchmaker with a rolex parts account could order one? i would hate to buy one and then find out it doesnt fit.

?? Why would you want to do this?
You would need to grind out the crown guards to fit a larger crown. Rolex will inevitably say it voids any warranty or any possibiity of their servicing the watch. That would in turn ruin the resale value. Doesn't make sense to me.

i dont care about resale... never did. im speaking in terms of if the gaurds were removed altogether, i wonder if the deepsea crown would fit or does it use a larger tube? because if it uses a larger tube, then that tube will not fit into the submariner case when installing the tube itself

Any Rolex can be modified to fit the larger Triplock crown and tube - in fact, the early Subs came with the Twinlock and it was common to replace it with a Triplock upon service........

I found some info in my papers, a Sub crown is 7 mm in dia and a DeepSea crown is 8 mm in dia,. But I still don't
know if it's the same tube or threads.
