Thinking Ahead......

An elderly,(about 70), white-haired man walked into a jewelry store one Friday evening with a beautiful young blonde at his side.

He told the jeweler he was looking for a special ring for his girlfriend.

The jeweler looked through his stock and brought out a $5,000 ring. The old man said, "No, I'd like to see something more special."

At that statement, the jeweler went to his special stock and brought another ring over. "Here's a stunning ring at only $40,000," he said.

The young lady's eyes sparkled and her whole body trembled with excitement. The old man seeing this said, "We'll take it."

The jeweler asked how payment would be made and the old man stated, "By check. I know you need to make sure my check clears so I'll write it now, and you can call the bank on Monday morning to verify the funds and I'll pick the ring up on Monday afternoon," he said..

On Monday morning, the jeweler 'phoned the old man and said "Sir, there's no money in that account."
"I know," said the old man, "but let me tell you about my weekend!"

Sorry but you mean there is more to this site other than the Panerai forum? My bad.

When I was in undergrad, I worked part-time at a jewelry store and pawn shop. The owner of the chain of stores was a silent owner. He never worked there and rarely came around. I will never forget the time he showed up one weekday night pretty hammered with his "driver" and a few women. He was taking the ladies on an impromptu trip to his beach house and came to raid the safe of a few thousand bucks. Out of earshot of the girls, he asked my boss if we had anything fake that looked great but wouldn't "turn green until Monday." My boss grabbed a few things that fit the bill and threw them in some fancy boxes. The owner stuffed packs of cash and the fake jewelry in his jacket and ushered the girls out the door. I'm sure he had a great weekend as well.
