That was the one without the centre sweep. Daren was lost without it!!

Congrats Daren, that's about the most beautiful watch I've ever seen. the only improvement would be if it had the sandwich dial.

Congrats and enjoy it. That is a KEEPER! With the YM, and the 27... no need to get another watch for a long while (unless you just add, rather than sell/buy or swap). Of course, if you managed to work a deal on the YM for say a PAM47, 98 or perhaps an Mare Nostrum, then I'd say go for it.

Nice pictures, Daren. It is a nice looking watch, even though it doesn't have enough complications for me.

Enjoy it and wear it in good health.

Ed, if you're gonna consider a Panny, consider a fly-back chrono. I think that would do it for you.

Panny's are too big for my liking, Johnny. I've tried a few on and they all look like monsters on my wrist. If I were to consider one at all, it would probably be the Panerai Radiomir GMT Alarm - PAM 98.

Johnny, I think that you are quite right, I have three great and very different watches. I have tried the vintage route and that was not for me. I wear my watches at night and the lack of glow made it hard to tell the time.

I like the diversity in my collection, and when I do land that next job I will have the dress watch covered as well eh?

No Peter, he likes the complication, I am not smart enough to handle them. I just like to wind my watch set it and then gaze at it for hours on end during the day.

Well with you Daren just like my watches plain and simple even a manual
wind watch, just seems to be that more mechanical and more personnel.

Anybody can make a beautiful plain, boring mechanical watch like this:

But it takes a real watch making genius to make this:

That's what I appreciate.

Well Ed we must beg to differ, the only thing I like on that Patek is the movement now I could look at that, and the 3 blued hands. The dial is far
to busy looking for me.And if I could ever afford to buy it,which I seriously doubt it would not even get close to a 1938 Rolex 1490 Prince which would
only cost around £8500--£10000.

Wouldn't be awfully boring if we agreed on everything, Peter. As for affording it, I couldn't get close to it. If I recall, the retail on that thing is about three times what I paid for my house (of course that was almost 30 years ago, but the comparison still boggles the mind).

False modesty doesn't become you, Frans. That's a beautiful watch. I haven't seen that one before. That's my kind of watch. Now I may start coveting it.

According to Chopard's website, that beauty is due out this month in a limited edition of 250 in RG and 100 in Pt. Care to hazard what the price point of that thing will be? the only question is how far north of $50K it will be?
