I got my grail.... (A. Lange & Soehne)

A. Lange and Sohne, Lange 1 Timezone

This watch keeps track of time in two time zones at once. The larger subdial tells the time in the home zone (EDT (GMT -4) in New York for me) while having a second subdial to tell the time in any other zone. If one looks to where the five should be on the smaller subdial, one sees a gold arrow pointing downward. The timezone selected for the smaller subdial is shown on the outer edge of the dial. Currently I have selected Denver (MDT GMT -6). The two small indicators in each subdial indicate whether it is am or pm. The blue line that goes half way around shows night. With a click of the lower button on the left side of the watch, the outer dial (with the city names) will skip forward to the next timezone while automatically adjusting the time and 24 hour indicator on the smaller subdial.

Thanks guys! The watch is RG, but Lange's RG is definitely less "pink" than that of other companies...

Wow, nice! I wonder why they chose Denver to be one of the cities on the outer dial...

I guess nowadays Phoenix is actually bigger, but I think Denver is still better known throughout the world. I was thrown by Mexico City being listed over Chicago, but since the watch is from Saxony, it is no surprise that Berlin was chosen over Paris...

Congrats. A Lange are masters at the offset dials. My grail is the Lange 1. Outstandingly detailed and decorated watches with a long history. A fine watch!

Wow! Functional, elegant in the extreme, and with plenty of watchmaking finesse. What more could you ask for in a grail watch.
