Traded DSSD for EXP II Noir
Sorry guys I really love the DSSD but decided to trade it away for an EXP II Noir and a fistful of cash.
I posted on the Enigma thread some of the three key motivations for trade: A) DSSD was only being worn at the weekends (does not work with my shirt sleeves) and even then I was swapping in my EXP II Blanc when playing with the kids and messing around outdoors. B) I wanted a change up in color dial during the week at the office and at home. C) The EXP II presently fits my active lifestyle and although the DSSD is tough it’s more prone to knocks including accidental knocks on young heads not just my own kids either. End of the day, I'm happy and in addition to my now 2 EXP II, I know I will probably pick up another DSSD in the future and keep for those less active occasions and my young kids (4 months, 3 yrs & 5yrs) wont be so young and boisterous…..maybe One final benefit of this trade is that I no longer need to struggle with the White or Black dial dilemma or threads on such. Not got around for pictures yet but will borrow Larry’s pic below to showcase how such a duo compare…hope your cool with that Larry? |

Congrats!
I love the E2 White Dial! Its one of the most underrated, most under appreciated rollies IMHO.
Its definitely on my short list! |

The Explorer is a tough watch. It will take ever much a beating as the DSSD.

You know what, I don't blame you. And I have to admit, even if the DSSD fits with some of my shirts/suits, I just looks stupid and tacky to wear a 3,900 meters giant thick diving instruments with a suit. A regular sports Rolex is fine IMO.

I agree to a degree especially with cuffs and tie etc, however if you wear a shirt without tie and rolled up cuffs it looks ok...

It was certainly a decision of the Head, as my heart felt quite different.....It's ok though as I will own a DSSD again in the future, it is also a good time to shore up on both current EXP's before they receive their impending updates.....

After an extended absence from TRF, I saw your post on my Enigma thread, then your sig line with both Expys. Congrats, I think it's a great choice/decision!

Sweet! The ExpII flies under the radar much better. With the light weight you don't have the mass flying around. I definitely don't run with the DSSD.
I'm just surprised to hear that a couple folks have one black and one white Exp II. That wouldn't even occur to me as being an option. Hmmmm, maybe I could use a white Exp II .

Heh..heh..with that fistful of cash from the trade perhaps you should pick up an EXP I to complete the Explorer lineup!

Thanks for all the supportive comments guys.
I’m very happy with the change and am now enjoying a somewhat calm state of mind over my Rolex…..something that is not easy or usual for most of us visiting this site I’m sure Have been wearing the new black dial EXP II all week and plan to go white next week…Oh what JOY! |
