I have two. One with black & one with white stitch.
The leather feels amazing, nice and think. Just extremly comfortable to wear, and really fits the look of the watch.

I have a Crazy Horse with white stitching. Thick, but soft strap. Very comfy to wear.

Yes, Greg is a star. Love mine, CH with white stitch, very soft and comfortable and the strap has a nice waxy feel to it. Just make sure you order a bigger strap than you would normally get, the CH is 5mm thick. For me a standard Pam strap of 115x75 fits fine but for the CH the equivalent size is 120x80.

I have one as well and it's just a great strap. The leather is very soft but feels so solid. The colour and texture are gorgeous and give the watch an instant 'vintage' look.
Also, the sewn-in buckle is actually really good. I'm not a fan of sewn-in buckles, but Greg's is one of the better ones. I still wish the tang he uses could be beefier, but it's a minor point. I had a Gabo and sold it to replace with a Greg. I really like the Gabo, but the Greg is thicker and I actually prefer the black edges to the Gabo's unfinished edges. But that's MO. You'll like it, no question. |

Being thicker than the OEM is the big difference, plus leather vs buckle touching your wrist.
You'll find it more comfortable.

Getting new straps is fun. I love the way you can change up a Panerai with a new strap.

I want to get some OEM straps in Red and Green... I figure I'll ask for a free OEM strap when I pick up my Panerai... whats the most desirable OEM straps?
Thinking I could get say a OEM croc and then try and trade it for a coloured one on one of the sales corners... Is that a silly plan? |

BTW.... the converse strap idea, still interested? I've found a local leather shop that I'm going to go and peruse, try and pickup some thicker leather so I can pad it in the middle a bit, make it thicker.

The OEM gators are amazing. The quality is out of this world. I've had a few in my day...black, honey and antique gators :)
Nothing wrong with trading on the accessories corners. A guy traded me his black gator for my extra OEM velcro strap. What a trade!!! The strap thing is totally addicting. I cann see how people go crazy with straps. Quote:

I'm thinking the OEM red gator looks fantastic from the pics, probably nothing else like it out there. I want to keep the rubber strap and the tan OEM (LOVE the colour) and want a real nice Python (I'd use that in place of a tan/honey croc I think) the red strap will be nice to 'girl' it up a bit!! I wear lots of red, have red shoes and red cowboy boots... so that OEM red strap will be total kick a$$ I reckon - pardon the french!!! I want a crazy horse too...... OK thats another $500AU down the loo |

Amanda, you can get OEM straps in bright colours too. Just ask your AD. BTW, one of the most desirable OEM straps is the antique brown gator. Also the OEM carbon fiber.

Thanks John... I'd have to order them at my AD and pay RRP if I did that. I'm thinking of scoring one of the straps they have in stock now as part of my purchase, and then trying to trade the free one later for a coloured one. That way I dont pay extra for it! I'm sure someone on paneristi.com would be up for that.

When you get your watch, amanda, push for an OEM gator, cuz you can sell it on paneristi for like US $200 or so and then pick up a few coloured straps. Btw, there are coloured gators and some are gator embossed calf.

Brian - go to www.paypal.com you'll have to setup an account so you can pay Greg for the crazyhorse. Paypal is a online payment facility as used by Ebay and lots of people now except payment via Paypal. It's a handy thing to be able to use. Greg is perfect for your first transaction, as he'll look after you. |

Question 1: well you go on his photo bucket and decide which strap you want, after that you have to have a paypal account(an internet money service provider) type in his address and put in the memo the type of strap that you want. I think gregs turn around time is 2-4 weeks. Question 2: From my brief experience with panerai(3 weeks) it has given me the notion that the deployant buckle usually shortens the strap, you mentioned that you have a 7.5 in wrist, but the deployant still fits. From what I have heard, anyone with a 6.75 inch wrist is considered big...I would recommend before you order from greg, shoot him an email he will ask you what size your wrist is, he will also get you the "Tang" buckle with his own rods so you will not have to use the deployant. Im not too fond of the deployant because it sits right on your skin all day, if you work on the computer then i could get annoying. I hope that helps. Here are the list of members that have helped me with all my pam questions, I could guarentee that if you have a question about anything pam related, these guys will answer it: DMAN Launch mini Atomic Hutchman Amanda Miner
