Nice - I saw this on 'risti.com
I like how they've recreated the T dial look. Too 'base' for me though (even if I had a chance of obtaining one) cos I need a second hand.

Cheers

yes, clive... but apparently lots of ristis are really into the real DNA which is the base.... and i begin to appreciate "base" pam as well.... for only 300 pieces, congrats to those who will be the given the chance to own it.

That's true Andrew - and I prefer the historic Luminor case - I just can't bring myself to lose the second hand!

Yes, there's going to be 300 very lucky 'ristis

Cheers

Absolutely Phil, 100% agree. It's an amazing thing for a watch company to do and speaks volumes about Angelo Bonati

Like I said, lovely looking piece and a very appropriate design.

Can't imagine Rolex doing a TRF edition vintage Sub recreation, although I'd be rather pleased if they did!

Cheers

My guess would be Panerai OP X (ETA 6497 base)

But it would be nice if they use the new calibre P.999

That watch is only being sold for USD 6,700 once and after that it will priced in the 10's of thousands and then it will finally work it's way down in price just like most of the newer grails are doing these days.

They should have a rule that flippers will be removed from future special editions by Panerai!

I am pretty sure the 300 that they choose to get this piece have been screened by Panerai and p.com mods and flipping will be the equivalent of a death sentence.

And the 300, its probably already allocated...congrats to the lucky 300...

I am not so sure about that, we can see a new 195 being flipped almost each week and those have the guy's name engraved on the back. Those things were flipping for 20 to 24k USD in the beginning but now you can see them advertised for between 14k to 16k USD.

just not on p.com/TZ here in the states..and certainly you think the ones that flip for a profit on the 195 is going to get a chance at the 360? If you need to flip a watch, at least flip the 360 at no markup. But money talks and actions speak louder.
And at 300 pieces, everyone will know who is flipping and for what reasons...

Phil, No, I doubt that 90% of the same people that got the 195 will have a chance to get a 300 but 10% will. As for what some of the 360 owners will do? They will do the same as some of the 195 owners did, they will flip not so much for the money but they want something else, they want to pay the kids university tuition, they want to buy the wife or the mistress a special gift. Some will flip it, no doubt, it is human nature.

guys, you can't talk about flipping a 195 TODAY !!!
That watch is already 6 or 7 years old.

If you get a watch and you sell it TEH NEXT DAY OR THE NEXT WEEK for a profit, than you are a flipper, if you sell a watch after 1 or more years you're not a flipper but a person who wants to try something new, even when sold with a profit.

I'm sure almost everybody of us sells most of his watches after some time !

What you say is partly true but with all watches and the idea of flipping, it really depends on how long you actually own the watch.

What if a guy is lucky enough to buy a 360, he takes it home, puts it in his safe and waits for a few years. He never takes it out of his safe and admires it or looks at it, he waits and see's the various prices that the watch is being sold for 3 or 4 years later and decides to sell his BNIB 360 at the going rate of 20k USD. Is he a flipper?

My other point was that 99% these newer watches are just flashes in the pan. Look at the 127( recently sold for 12k USD no box and no papers but DAMN) , the 195 (was selling for 20 to 22k USD and now advertised for 15K USD) and even now the 317 (recently advertised for 25k USD), they were selling for premium prices and look at the prices fall now.

Ok, unless you guys have some flipping proof that the watches are already pre-selected for owners, stop talking like they are.

Have a little flipping faith. It is a community watch made by Panerai. Does ANY other watch company do this? NO!

if a person keeps it 2 years in a safe and sells if after 2 years he still isn't a flipper in my eyes.
I know people who buy watches without ever wearing them. I don't get it but it's their decission

I think once you bought a watch you can do whatever you want with that watch. I wear it but if somebody decides not to , it is his right

Imo a flipper is only the person who sells it within a few days or weeks.
If I could get the 360 and I would sell it after 8 months (after wearing it for 8 months) I woulnd't consider myself to be a flipper
