Well, this is how it happened but to the naked eye there would apear to be nothing wrong......
Whilst giving the old turn 0 graph a wind, was going to give it a day on the wrist, I managed to drop it and sods law says it WILL fall crown first and it did. It still works, it still winds, still changes date but the crown is loose when out and just doesn't feel right when screwing back in..... Its now in HACK mode, in it's box awaiting inspection.... |

The crown shouldn't be completely stiff, it should be slightly loose when out, but since it landed on the crown it is well worth having it checked out. Most likely your feeling is correct.
Sorry to hear about this. Good luck having it checked! Best, A |

How can i explain the "loose crown".... crown should pull out, push in, rotate clockwise & anticlockwise. Not anymore... does all that but also now moves in all other directions. Imagine your finger on a marble, you can move it anywhere.... This is the crown but obviously on a much smaller scale....

You live, you learn, you pay the RSC. In all seriousness, sorry to hear it. Hopefully the fix won't be too costly, and they can turn it around quickly.

Today I will say goodbye to my friend.... My 16253..... She is going off to the doctors via the AD....
I could do with an opinion though guys..... Obviously off for a service and repair of what ever is broken. But I was wondering.... The dial and hands show some wear.... but not in a way to be a worry.... But thinking about giving an old girl a new lease of life.... New dial, new hands??????? = new lume, a fresh "new look"..... Is a new dial/hands etc on an 85 watch a bit overkill? Thoughts, opinions apreciated!!!! |
