Trading up?
I have two DateJust Rolex's. One is SS, circa 1990's. The other is SS/YG, circa 1970's, I believe. SS is mint, never worn. SS/YG has been worn, but still near mint condition.
If I were to trade those two in, any idea what I can get for them? Really looking for either a Daytona, Explorer, GMT or Cellini. Do I have any chance in obtaining any of them or am I just dreaming? |

There is a site called Bernard watch co. They take trades, and from experience give very fair value. If you check out the rolex's on thier site you'll see a preowned rose gold Cellini for around $3000. I compared it to the new ones at an AD, and they looked the same. I would think 2 vintage datejust could atleast get you that. You just need to fill out the trade-in form. I've had very good service from them. Hope this helps.

Best of luck with the trade, but the ones you've got sound good. Do you have any photos to share with us?

For comparrison purposes - I recedntly sold a 2001 16234 stainless DateJust with B&P for $2,000. Took 2 months to sell it. Buyers are out there - but as Kyle said - not nearly as popular as the sports models. I had many offers for $1500-$1700.
It was a clean really nice watch - all original. I recommend you review for sale post history for pricing guidance, and sell both here - with patience - you sell both for approx $3500 - which buys you an 8-10 year old 16710 with B&P - a beautiful watch |

Are you asking about trade-in at the Rolex dealer?
Mostly likely not much. For example, Tourneau will give you approximately 20% off the new watch price in return for your trade-ins. Not on the Daytona though. |

Not crazy about Tourneau. They can be over priced and hard to deal with at times. The SS came from there. It was around 4k. I am thinking, I could sell them on eBay. Based on completed auctions, I could bring in 2k - 2.5k per watch.
Need to take better pics though. lol. |

I think you might be able to get an Exp II with those guys. You'll just need to find a dealer (if that's where you planned on going) that wants to move one.
