Old Rolex Prices

Hello everyone,
Curious if anyone has ever posted a list on new Rolex Submariner prices (from the AD's) from the 1970's?
Looking for the 1974 or 75 price of a SS sub.
That was the first time I saw one.
It was on the wrist of a recent grad of SEAL school, who I trained with briefly in 75. His dad had bought it for
him for completing the first part of training (BUDS is what they call it now).
We were drinking in a bar on Coronado and he showed it to me and I remember thinking I had to get one of those one day.
I'm curious what I would have paid back then compared to what I paid a few years ago.
Thanks,
Jack

I would be very interested in knowing the 1975 price of the Sub/date in the uk, as i bought one, and i thought i paid £336($480) for it.

Thanks, that was the list I was looking for.
Now I remember why I didn't buy one back then, it would have been a months pay (at least for a guy in the military).
And as a dedicated sailor and scuba diver, I had a duty to
pretty much drink my paycheck back then...lol

69 Date

The original price for my TT Date, sold in July 1972, was $295. I have the original sales receipt.

Aw, come on Dan, you know it will only hurt for a little bit.
Turns out I paid almost exactly six times as much for my SS sub thirty years later. But thirty years later I could afford the damn thing

I paid $270 Canadian for my 1680 in early 1971. The no-date was $225 and the extra $45 was a tough call.

I was in my first job and making $4200 a year as an insurance trainee.

I paid $1720 USD for a BNIB 14060 (Sub Non Date) in February, 1994 from an AD.

The 16610 was selling for something like $2275-$2350 those days (after discount).

I recall GMT Masters were something like $2200-$2250 in 1990.

It's fun to look back at what things(watches or other items) cost but remember salaries were proportionally less back then!!!

I did the inflation calc using the link on 4-6 and the $470 in 1975 dollars
equates to $1995.00 in 2010 dollars!
Ouch!

I am sorry to saying that but last time when talking to my AD he unofficially confirmed price increase about some 8% in September 2010. I am in Belgium but I think that it will effect whole world.
